Figure I'll share the gory details of my last load.

Started out simple enough, p/u 11am in Industry, ca 0630 del in portland, or. Only gotcha being I need a pair of breaks during the run. Still shouldnt be an issue. Loaded and rolling by 1340, scale out a half mile away and should be able to make it to Ricon with time to spare.... wrong...

A truck broke down in Tejon Pass has traffic stop and go and im crawling in 2nd gear. That single issue completely wiped all my wiggle room. Finished the first leg only 181 miles away and took 5.5 hours to do it. Worked out the times and knew I was going to be late in portland. Fired off a message to my dm and off to bed.

Now comes the part that gets under my skin. Yesterday morning I get a response from my dm. She doesnt see a problem, other drivers have done this run no problem, blah blah. My mistakes started right there. What I should have done was reiterate that I was going to be late and that was that. Deal with explanations after the delivery. Instead I decided to try to push and cut every minute I could.

Wednesday was decent other than running right into Sacramento morning rush. Cost me about 30min but finished up about like I originally figured for the day. Shutting down was where I really messed up. I knew I was going to need fuel before I started and should have gotten it when I parked. Instead I fugured id get up sneak into the fuel island go on duty fuel/pretrip and roll. Not so much. The TA I was at is a bit tricky getting into the fuel island and I ended on the street with a divider between me and my fuel... sigh. Head to the pilot 8 miles away. Hit thd ramp to the pilot and.... truck dies at the top of the ramp. Wtf.

Fuel gauge showing just under 1/4 and no warning lights on. Took about 15 minutes to figure out my right tank is nearly dry. 4 hours to get going again. Right tank took 115 gallons out of a 120 gallon capacity. Shocked I didnt run out before I did. Left tank took 89 gallons. Just a little bit of a balance issue... Frustration not over yet... qc locked up later and im missing 5 hours of drive time in my logs.

Sent a message to my dm that I was in the dock and I was headed over to jump in the river. She told me to bring floaties...

The bright spot in the fiasco was dealing with the receiver. Remember this name. Henningsen Cold Storage.

Just found out that my drive covers don't fit on this truck. No biggie though. I got those for free. The rim isn't deep enough for them to fit. They were the made for duals. Since I can't put the drive covers on, it will do no good to put the steer covers on. Now, to save a little and order drive covers.

Overweight on the drives again. 35200 and only two holes left to use. I love Tyson.

Filled up my tanks this morning, 6.74 mpg. My best so far in my 3 weeks, hopefully continues like this but not going to hold my breath because had a 9700 lb Sterilite load.

I hope I get a load/preplan today before everyone goes home. Been waiting 3 hrs and nothing yet, did send me one earlier but cancelled because needed 10 hr break first to make to shipper. Also suppose to have hometime coming up this Wednesday, so that probably adds to the problem. Some of the other drivers told me had trouble getting home on time so hoping for the best.
