OK time to get in this.
During the winter TA/Petro fuel consistently delivers better mileage than P/FJ or Love's. The caveat is that the mileage increase is .25mpg or less. The TA winter blend is a better mix, excluding CA. CA fuel sucks all year long. During the summer, it really doesn't matter as the only real worry is hot fuel. For those who don't know about this the warmer the fuel is, the less dense it is and the less you get per gallon. ASTM says the fuel should be at 65 F and weigh 7.2 lb/gal. I have a dedicated thermometer to check it. The major chains (TA/Pe, P/FJ, L) always are close to 65. Indie TS I have seen as high as 80F. At that temp 1 gal will weigh ~6.89lbs.
At 78,900 using TA/Petro fuel I was just over 7mpg, P/FJ just under 7mpg. These were obtained on the flat areas of I-40. Didn't get to try Loves at that weight yet. Lowest mpg I have seen was HESS fuel, I only got 6.67mpg on that junk. I hope to see averages above 8 this summer as this engine gets run-in. I currently have 23,597mi on this 14 EVO.
I dont limit myself to one or the other, but during winter a 2-3 cent difference is not enough to use P/FJ or Loves for the most part. But as it is beginning to get warmer and P/FJ is giving us LOTS of point right now, I'll be using it more often.
However as always;

I geeked out today a buckhead in Atlanta. The place is right under the approach/departure paths of 26L/27R @ KATL. My Rebel Xt got a workout planespotting! CRJ's, MadDogs, A320's, 757's, 767's, all climbing under TO power! The other driver's looked at me like I was nuckin futz! WestOPS @ KATL is AWESOME!!!
Currently setting at the Pilot in Valdosta, waiting for the clock to reset. Going to the Petro at Riddick to swap out and head home for a good rest... My girl is really dirty, gotta get her cleaned!! -

Sitting at the Aldi's in Oak Creek, WI being unloaded. Next stop is my final in Lima, OH tonight then it's a little jump down to Minster, OH and then off to Mira Loma, CA yet again. LoL Though if it's to Costco again I definitely won't complain about that. That place was easy to deal with on the 1st experience.
