Called a few companies today... Just to get some info...
FCC has no terminal in TN and requires 2 yr experience in the last 36 months and ability to lift 50lbs during DOT physical. Their long haul goes to Canada too... that is when they are open...
Sav Express has no terminal in TN....
Marvin Keller is hiring in the city here and their terminal is in Sullivan, IL. They need drivers with HM to drive 4 and take 4 days off and share truck with another driver. They go IL GA NY TN KY OH MO VA and a few other states on the east side of I-35. Pay $25.00 per hr and offer benefits after 30 days and 401k... Didn't ask much cause don't want to share truck with someone else and move my stuff in and out every 4 days...
Southeast Carriers didn't have much any info on their website... I didn't call cause they are too far from here... I will not bring truck for hometime and don't want to drive 3 hrs for hometime. They also have International trucks... which IMHO are POS... and their trucks have all the bells and whistles one can get for "safety system" and the system also applies the brakes if it senses something too close... I don't trust those systems...
Checked Artur Express in Hazelwood, MO... and a couple others
H.O.W. I gave up on them many yrs ago... They visited my CDL school and I faxed them my first application right after I graduated... then I called them and they said they had not received it...So, I sent it again and called... they said they would take a look and call me back but didn't call... I called again, left message.... crickets....
So... to the heck with them...
They seem to be more interested in fresh CDL graduates...
I think will visit Danny Herman terminals in Lebanon and in Mountain City to see it up close...Last edited: Nov 17, 2021

Saw another company today right here in town.... The owner is a lady who does everything but drive her trucks and repair them...
She sits in front of 3 or 4 computer screens and monitors all her trucks and drivers via cameras inside the trucks...
Two cameras on the sides and one on the windshield showing inward and outward... The camera stops recording inward a few minutes after truck parks and it records outward for 10 hrs...
Trucks have no APUs and no opt-idle... She has the trucks set not to idle when temps are between 50 and 70F...
She is the safety, the logging, the breakdown, the dispatcher, load planner, etc, etc, etc... Total of 10 trucks... 1 team, 1 local and all the others are solo going 48 states...
I enjoyed our conversation that lasted for a little over one hr but not interested...Speed_Drums Thanks this. -
Too many cameras for my liking....
Rocks Thanks this.
