I just finished getting my CDL A permit this morning. I don't have money for a school . Any ideas? I've been out of prison for 2 months. I work 2 jobs in food service 7 days a week. I have a car. I'm looking to find employment in trucking. I'm honest and a very hard worker. I live in Sacramento. I appreciate any advice.

See if you qualify for WOIA in CA. WOIA is a federal GRANT program that pays for trade schools for those out of work or underemployed. With a felony record you have have to get a "pre-hire letter" from a couple of trucking companies that verify to the WOIA people you could be hired if you have the CDL. ANY CDL school can put you in touch with someone that makes loans to students for school. 50% of trucking companies offer Tuition Reimbursement payments to recent graduates they hire.

Morning Star seems to be a decent gig. They have tons of trucks in your neck of the woods and certainly have the business to keep you earning.

Pick in a grocery warehouse for money. If you can hang. In all seriousness I’d just apply to paid training
