I normally avoid married woman like the plague but since we are on the internet and I'm safe, lol, you aren't ugly, geez. You have pretty eyes and smile. Plus you have a great personality which many are lacking. Your husband is lucky.
Now that you have the big head go to bed!![]()

I agree about the truck stops. Do not cut between trucks (the equivalent of walking down a dark alley). And yes, there is always someone there willing to help if you get into trouble. I am a woman driver as well. Here are a few things I have learned:
1) Do not tell anyone that you are out there alone. You can tell them your husband is in the truck stop somewhere or that he is in the truck. They will never know- especially if you keep your sleeper curtains closed and throw a work jacket or flannel shirt over the back of your passenger seat.
2) You are safer at a truck stop than a rest area. All of my unsafe encounters have been in the rest areas. I have seen men in the women's bathroom. I have pulled into isolated rest areas when I had to take a break, and been made so uncomfortable by a man there that was walking around my truck repeatedly and looking at me that I called the state police. They did come, and it turned out that the man was wanted for being a sexual predator- towards men! They told me to call them anytime that I felt uncomfortable and needed help at one of the rest areas. I have had to take my 10 hour breaks in rest areas from time to time. My former team partner (a man) was intimidated by another (extremely large) man in the restroom. If you have to take a break there, I suggest you carry a port-a-potty in your truck so you do not have to get out after dark. Carry some food and water. When you must get out, take a Mag Light flashlight with you and be aware of your surroundings. Just like out on the road, you do not want to be pre-occupied or distracted. Make sure that you have some sort of means of identification with you so that if something does happen to you, the authorities will know who you are and how to contact your family. I had a dog tag made up with my personal info and a family contact phone number made up. I attached it to my boot laces over the tongue of my boot and laced the boot up over top of it. I know that this is a scary thing to have to think about, but it pays to think ahead. Over all, if you stay aware of your surroundings, stay prepared, and do not discuss personal information with strangers (like where you are going and that you are alone), you should be just fine.californiatruckgirl and bullhaulerswife Thank this. -
Oh, I forgot to mention this important thing: ALWAYS KEEP YOUR DOORS LOCKED! ALWAYS! Even when you are driving. And if someone jumps up on your running board or is approaching the truck when you stop, do not roll down your window or open your door for them. I have had panhandlers do this, and once had a strange man at a stoplight up next to NYC do this. Keep some lysol or the flashlight in your driver side door (and your bunk at night). No need to carry a weapon to defend yourself. The tools of your trade (and the cleaners as well) can help protect you if you really need to use force.

attractive and in shape? no worries, it'll pass)) just kidding. you sure can stay in shape as long as you stay away from teams, closer to hiking trails and showers and away from the all-you-can-eat joints.
you sure can keep it safe if you stick to good judgement. don't cruise around creepy looking places in dusk, stay away from marginal looking folk, and above all, consult locals (like truck stop employees) NICELY about safe routes for walks, shopping and sight-seeing. if you see a cop parked by, walk right to him - you are cute, right? cops are people -and ask them about safe place to walk.
keep in mind that although most people *men included* are just forced by society to act civilized and unless there are witnesses, things may happen. it's not just drivers. any people. drivers might be the safest choice as most carriers don't tolerate previous legal issues on their employee's record. in that sense, hazmat drivers are probably as safe as it gets. socialize with them!
there are all kind of people driving. you'll find retired professionals, mid-life crisis adventure seekers, ex-cops even. you are not the only non-rapist considering joining the force) but there's, of course, plenty on odd creatures...so, if you do get on board, buckle your seat belts over your door handles overnight and keep your cell phone close by.Last edited: Jul 15, 2013

I USED to always put my curtains up and I'd get out the passenger door ALWAYS. And all the lurking eyes would assume there MUST be a male driving bc no way a lil lady could be driving that big O Pete! LMAO...
Almost everyday a driver would ask"where ya headed driver?" Reply? " Down the hwy"
Nunya bidness... Let no one,no thing intimidate you,EVER. YOU WILL BE TREATED AS IF YOU ARE AN ALIEN,watched at all times. Don't walk with your head down, stay alert and use common sense. There are ALOT of weirdos and misfits out here, but there's just as many normal good folks as well.
Oh and when you walk in the T/S the moe rons wil start from your feet and make their way up staring all the while...JUST DO THE SAME BACK TO THEM...LMAO..they will do the samee thing every time, turn their head in embarrassment,as if they wern't doing it. LMAO
