Safety groups call for 60 mph speed limiters on trucks

Ontario and Quebec have done this for a while…… very few owner operators pay any attention to it…..only the fleets have their Ecm’s set …..

 

My truck has two speed sensors on the tail shaft, so a few tweaks in the ecm and I can still run as fast as I want.

 

Illegally.

Another thing is that fleet trucks are geared so fast they may not be turning enough rpm in high gear at 60.

 

You don’t have a clue what I’m talking about,so how can you call it stupid?

 

Pretty easy to see you are saying you'd be bypassing the governor.

 

No I wouldn’t. The truck would be governed at 60.
Now if a “tech” makes a mistake entering a digit... we all make mistakes.

 

They'll simply lug them down even farther and rattle the crank around in the main bearings even worse.
