Again bypassing the governor. But that's okay. The speed limit will get you a speeding ticket.

You won’t be changing lanes or passing anything if you let them do that. Nobody will be able to use the highways. Trucks will be two lanes wide for miles 10’ from one another the same as it is here since speed limiters. Empty trucks can’t even get away from loaded ones most places, think about that for a minute and the lunacy in that plan should show clear.

In Onterrible they write you a ticket for no speed limiter if they clock you at 115kph or over, even if the limiter is set. Like the thing defies the laws of physics or something.

When did your law come into effect? Did you get a lot of drivers leaving the industry due to it?

2008 with soft enforcement until 2010 or something. Industry wide I don’t know about numbers, but just among my friends there’s about 500 yrs worth of truck driving experience on the couch over the speed limiters and ELD’s.

They only run a couple mph over your cruise speed before they go back into gear and kick the engine brake on. And they only go into neutral if you’re on the cruise.

I’ve seen a few 65ish company trucks doing 75-80 on down hills.

That doesn’t mean they’re in neutral. That’s just gravity with the engine brake off.

I could see them going into a higher gear than they were in, but not neutral. If it’s illegal for me to coast a truck off a hill in neutral it should be illegal for a computer to do it.
