Except that by DOT STANDARDS this is so illegal. Whomever is sitting in the passenger seat is a valid driver of the truck is legally suppose to be logged as ON DUTY.
Plus where is the third person suppose to sleep if tired...CRE Truth and kid_cardiac Thank this. -
Also how is sleeping in a chair that barely reclines getting proper rest...
Also why should two people have to share one bunk...
Also sleeping on the floor...does the words go fly a kite have meaning...
Now on the whole safety issue...I am sorry it totally comes down onto the driver, nobody makes you drive to close or take ramp to fast or backup without doing a GOAL or driving to fast for road conditions...but sure if it makes you feel better then go ahead and find fault on somebody else...CRE Truth Thanks this. -
Seems like you want to make excuses not to believe. I paid Dac Fix 189$ after applying to US Express and hearing that my dac showed a termination. Dac Fix said it would take them about 8 weeks to get it fixed with a proven 70% sucess rate.
I know that the truth of CRE sounds crazy. The common thing I heard while calling companies was "they realy do that? We would never put multiple students in a truck!" Not only did I record them saying that they did, I also recorded the head of the training department James Rhodes saying "its safe because its MY rules!"
Check out thier Dot rating and you will see how unsafe they are.
Its a true story, every word of it. Documented and reported to DOT. I'm more then willing to share the proof. If you are one of the idiots that refuses to believe what your eyes and ears tell you, then whats the point in arguing. Just dont infect others with your ignorance.
P.S. I have no idea about Dac or how long it takes to post or show the posts. I only know that I didnt tell the US Express I was termed, they told me. I also know from experience that it made it incredibly hard to locate a company that acepted CREs school training, overlooked a Dac reported termination, and acepted a graduate with less than 90 days otr -
On a side note, WHAT GOOD IS PREACHING SAFETY IF YOU PERSECUTE PEOPLE FOR FOLLOWING YOUR ADVISE?
Aftet being told my wife had to sleep in bed with either the other student or the male trainer, or sleep on the floor?!? We followed the advise of our instructors and she refused the truck she was assigned while trying to get a sympathetic ear to hear or problem.
She was rewarded by being docked the pay she earned for the week PRIOR to being assigned a truck, told she would now wait up to two weeks more before getting another truck, and I was sent home for interfering with her training.
They never could explain how anyone could possibly do two trainees on a truck and be legal. Qualcomm only accounts for two drivers at a time, and unmarried couples cant be forced to sleep with each other.
Even this story about watching dvds while sitting in the passenger seat would make you illegal as hell. Its a 24 hour day, requiring a minimum of 30 hours for three people to rotate in the sleeper birth. Plus you would demolish your 14 or 70 hour clock logging all that time in the passenger seat. -
Dude, you're from SLC and you hadn't heard all the horror stories? I could imagine not, if you were from Paducah, KY, but living right there in SLC? Come on...

The scary thing is a lot of these "stories" are in fact true. All I can say is I was lucky enough to have an awesome Phase1 trainer who took the time to show me as much as he possibly could in the 30 days. Things that when I went into Phase2 I had to show my trainer...
