    WOW, you KNOW stuff is bad when trucking companies are cutting jobs like this! What sucks is Saia is a good company...why do the good companies always cut jobs while crap companies, like JB Hunt, don't. What a shame.

    I agree with your opinion here. But you should know better ;) being where you are that is. Those "hiring" signs are everywhere.

    Saia has pro actively increased the number of drivers over the past year, expecting an upturn. Which we both know didn't happen. I almost went with them myself, before taking my current job.

    A combination of economic downturn and increased hiring, never mixes well.
