Yes people do it every day. All a salvage title means is that it was wrecked and deemed a total loss. They can be hard to finance, they can be a head ache if not done by the right people. Done by the right folks they make as good a rig as any. I have a shop near me Pete's are all they build. They keep up with their trucks after the sale to be sure it's doing its deal

I haven't had a salvaged truck yet but I've had plenty of salvage cars. As long as it drives straight and the alignment wasn't messed up, you'll be fine. Like others said, financing might be an issue if you're not buying with cash. Brokers and shippers don't need to know, as long as your insurance will insure it, you're fine.

Well that's a concern for any truck, not just salvage. I wouldn't let a salvage title turn me away, especially if the price was right. But I'd definitely bring a mechanic or someone who knows what they're doing to check it out with you.

My point exactly I know what to look for as long it runs and operates safely what's the issue is people driving new trucks and run em to the ground

Yeah as long as it's all legal, you'll make money. Loads pay the same, salvage or not. I just know you really want to watch the tire wear to make sure the alignment is good. You don't want to be changing tires every 30k, that will really eat away at your wallet.

A quick story about a car I bought:
Bought car in SC where it was a legal salvage/rebuilt title. Took it to GA to get re titled and tagged. Ga wanted to do frame inspection. Frame was bent. Shops wanted couple thousand or more to bend frame back. GA would not pass it until this was done. I sold the car back to the orginal owner for a loss. GA was picky.

Could apply in big truck world to.. State to state policies and practices are different

Good luck passing inspection in that $1000 truck you were talking about in another thread.
