I had six months of my life ripped off after I was falsely charged and jailed in San Diego while awaiting my hearings... nobody ever gave a #### about that. After my arrest, my bail was jacked to half a million dollars, and I had no record to speak of either... but I tried to expose the corruption in the CPD and the D.A.'s office at the time, and they don't like it when ya do that, lol. Meh, I helped shoot down the scrub queer D.A.'s bid to become mayor of that dump, so I got some payback... now I just avoid all cops like the plague that they are, though I must admit the cops out here in the boondocks are less corrupt than those in the Big City. Those CPD scumbags are something else, an entire department full of documented liars protected by a rotten & corrupt judicial system... o_O

Edit: You can Google "Zahau" for details on the corrupt CPD and criminal D.A. of that time, a real piece of work who should be breaking rocks in the hot sun...

Not Likely. Those twits dressed as police or security guards had/have an initiative and believe they're "in charge" of whatever situation they're in AND obviously despise Truck Drivers.

Citizens need not be polite or tail kissy just because someone is wearing the uniform of any, as claimed, law enforcement "official".
I have little to ZERO respect for Police, Sheriff and State Troopers especially when they start out with YELLING.

I've responded to police, sheriff and state troopers with sarcasm when THEY initiated the conversations in sarcastic and (what glaringly appeared to be) angry tones.
    Respond in kind.

I like this response from the arrested defendant:
Once placed in the back of the patrol car, Franks asked the deputy “is it hard to breathe with your head that far up your ###?” and the deputy grabbed Franks’ beanie off of his head in response.

GOOD that the wanker flunky "cop" was punished.

WHY cow-tow to police, sheriff, county mountie when they ask Joe-n-Jill Public what he/she/it is doing??
The NORMAL RESPONSE from them in reverse situation is "none of your business" or "do you want to be arrested for interfering in blah, blah, yadda, yadda, woof, woof" (?).

In OBVIOUS SITUATIONS Like WALKING, HOW can such be construed as a threat or as an illegal act and somehow deemed a REQUIREMENT to respond to such pointless query?

I'm talking about simple walking like in a Park or Shopping Center, in Daylight, not at 0205 hours, in a dimly lit area, after the saloon closed.

I won't get into how we should respond to police but I am Dumbfounded that most of the bad cops that get into these situations almost never loose thier Job!
They should be going to jail in many instances but next week they are out harassing someone new and a couple months later they give them some kind of award! Like the one who was arresting folks for DUI with 00 breath test.

Actually he had every right to be a dick. I support law enforcement, and I am respectful to them. Cop was in the wrong from the start and escalated the encounter all the way through. Virtually every department teaches de-escalation. Even after the driver was verbally combative to the unlawful detainment, the cop should have tried to de-escalate the encounter.

The truck driver had a pissy attitude, when the LEO asked for his drivers license, everything went south, even though he had a delivery clip board on hand and all. Isn’t law when law enforcement approaches you and ask for an ID, your supposed to cooperate and hand it to him? Probable cause; he looked suspicious(don’t we all). Cop was just doing his job. Truck driver was having a bad day. What’s next, “Defund the police again” ?

"Won the lottery?" He had night in jail and attorney fees to fight the bogus charges, not to mention lost wages even if he didn't lose his job (or had his truck impounded if he was an O/O or L/O). Had the DA attempted to press the resisting arrest charges and asked for high bail the guy could have been out several thousand dollars. Having a smart mouth isn't a crime, turning to face a police officer with muffins in hand is not "taking a fighting stance".

Obvious 4th and 5th Amendment violations that could have ruined the man's life.

In California you are not required to provide ID unless you were pulled over while driving. What's next, the police can invite themselves to dinner? Absent probable cause the police shouldn't be investigating people.

Many states have ID laws that states, law-enforcement, must have reasonable suspicion that you’re committing a crime, and being that he was in uniform, with the same name that was on the truck that was in the dock with paperwork in his hand is not reasonable enough to sit there and make an arrest test because somebody got butt hurt… The problem with that sheriffs deputy is he’s got a gun and a badge because he’s above everybody… It’s people like that in law-enforcement that turns a black eye on all the good cops…
