I’m seeing a lot of frac sand hauling jobs getting posted some offering pretty high sign on bonuses

Can anyone out in the oilfields confirm if it’s starting to get busy again especially after the first of the year?

North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, West Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, etc.

All the hotspots have frac sand hauling job posts a little more than usual offering minimum weekly guarantee with new trucks

Some areas like North Dakota its seasonal. Blowing off 50k of frac sand when its 4 degrees and the wind is blowing at 40 mph is not much fun, so sand haulers head down to Texas for the winter. Things might be picking up but the rates have been down for quite a while:(

That’s what I thought about rates being down. Maybe they are looking to fill trucks that are empty from driver’s quitting during the holidays.

I suspect January will be the same as usual. There are jobs but 1 or 2 loads a day which isn’t paying more than OTR

Maybe someone could tell us how it is out there now and if they know anything floating around about January picking up

I don't haul sand, but mats for sandboxes. Here in OK, my co. has been slow since this summer. Picked up a little this month, but still not good. My last check has been the first decent one I've seen in months.

Things are hopeful with Halliburton moving there field camp down to Duncan. We'll see after the 1st.

I'm contracted to haul sand for Halliburton. The last month and a half has been rough. Last week I only got 1 load. Halliburton cut our rate 7% a few months ago. Luckily my company secured the largest frac job in the Permian. We just started yesterday. I hear the rates are going back up soon.

All the contracts finish out end of the year. After the 1st it should pick up with the new contracts starting. The biggest reason for the slow down is the Arabs flooding the market with cheap oil. They don't like us out producing them.
