R.I.P. driver from Ohio. I think that is the most horrible way to die, and it's really tough when you see it just start to happen and a cop holds you back saying it's too late! For your own safety...

As many times that I have been up and down Sandstone you can’t let your guard down once! Whether you’re pulling 44,000 pounds of bottled water,or 18,000 pounds of dry goods that mountain deserves the highest respect.

Let me add one more "hill" that I would guess most of the drivers today are not acquainted with, the old "fancy gap" on U.S. 52 leaving Hillsville, Va going south. This piece of road would demand your upmost attention. But for the last 40 some years, trucks going south on 52 are banned from this piece of hwy.

I wasn't good at remembering names, but what is that little hill going east on I64 that has lights in the median that light up when it's foggy out? Think it's in VA, but that night was so foggy and i was worn out. And if those lights hadn't been there I probably wouldn't have made it down to the bottom to that rest area, going EB. Whoever thought to put those lights in the road, I owe them big time!
