Well I'm not against new technology. I get new hardware every sixmonths. I have vuqube that allows me to take it anywhere my truck my lodge the house any where I want all in a nice 29inch hd/dvd tv. I've had flo tv and didn't like it maybe if the standard channels where current and not playing last weeks shows I would have kept it.

I have my dish mounted to my mirror using two "U" Bolts. I have done it for YEARS this way, on different trucks with different mirror configurations using various size U-Bolts. Sometimes it helps to put a piece of tire innertube on the mirror post.

I discovered that the shape of the top of an International allows me to mount the post opposite of how I would mount it on a Freightliner, Kenworth or other truck. That seems to keep the LNB out of the way from truckdrivers who can't back up. Using this configuration, I can shoot a signal in any direction.......except over mountains or thru trees.
Last year, I had a truckdriver BACK INTO my dish at the Lake Station TA. Broke the LNB (good thing I had a spare) and left me two inches to open my passenger door.
It never takes me more than 5 minutes to get a signal and start watching TV.

Anyone had luck with ShawDirect/StarChoice (Canada)? I would go with Bell but I heard you don't get service in half the US with it and I'm an American whose company doesn't even go to Canada. I have no problem signing up for Canadian service as an American, I just wanted to know how hard it is to get the ShawDirect dish pointing, considering it's Ku band. Am I wrong about Bell, does it get service in all of the US.

How much do you guys pay for DirectTV or Dish Network? I don't have the service at home, so I'd only need one box for the truck. Or am I better off asking a friend of mine with their service to get another box and let me use it? Is it as simple as hooking the box up, or do I need to have it "installed" by one of their technicians (just talking about the box, not the dish itself)?

I have service at home so i pay a add'l 10.00 for the rec'r. / the programming subscription starts around 60.00 and goes up from their. sports packages are add'l. / if you have a family member or friend with service you get the programming they pay for.
