Swift is the only Company I have ever contacted about a drivers actions on the road. We all have made mistakes, but no one but a Swift driver has
actually ran me off the road, normally a driver could look in the mirror and see a big ole 18 wheeler beside them, the best I could tell is the driver whacked off the mirror before hitting the road. All I have to say for Swift
is that there should be a mandatory vehicle inspection, a drug test, and
a safety meeting weekly. Some of the stuff you see going on makes you
wonder if some of em really have a cdl, on the other hand they have a lot
of trucks so the odds are they will hire anyone to fill a seat. One more and I will stop.. I was in a Pilot one day and Swifty was saying he had ran a
couple hundred miles and had to shut down for a 10 hr break, I was told he went down a curvy 2 lane road and only got that far in 14 hours. That was like $50 in miles for a full day. :)

I almost got ran over by one while I was unchaining my truck. he blew by me about 6 inches away and blew my up into my tandems. Of course there was nobody in the hammer lane next o him either. I also saw a swift driver hit another guy the same day while he was chaining up on the other side of the hill. Oh and he tried to keep going untill the driver he hit crawled into his truck and started hollering on the cb. then everyone chased him down including the troopers who were in the chain up area.

Stipid With Idiot For Trainer... Now you heard them all...lol
Not to worry I work for them, but I'm not one of the idiots..
I have plenty of stories to tell as well, and well none involve me. Got this little aversion to tickets and accidents...lol

Stories to tell about Swift and problems, I wonder if I have any... (and not just Swift either)

Lets see, drive Heavy Duty Tow truck for like last 10 years exclusive..

You decide if I have stories...

Forgetting to set brakes, thinking that mud is pavement, going in driveways that cars scrape on, dropping trailers at speed...

Lawd what I have stories of (and some pictures)

Just starting out in school now might work for them. How much damage can you do and not get fired? Mom's a nurse, works with phillipenoes (them kids from that island ) spelling sorry. The state contracts them to work (for so long as nurses 1 yr. then they stay in U.S) and they bring there close family with them. One womans husband works for swift, They turned him loose (within a week he had to call his trainer he was lost in Utah) thats what mom said. I don't think he speaks english real good ( just assuming) I just hope I remember I got a trailor behind me. Maybe a little more training and good trainers might help you swift (or do you OWN the insurance company that pays all the claims) If you pass me in a ditch I hope I'm in a swift.

I seen the results of a "Swift Move of the Day" back in about January of 2000 while I was parked behind the scale house on I80 west of Davenport, IA. I was updating my log book after one of those full DOT inspections that you seem to get when pulling haz mat loads, when I heard the chatter pick up on the cb. Sounded like something unusual was going on so I turned up the radio and heard a driver say "Hey look what Swifty just did - he just knocked down the light tower by the scale house". Looked out the passenger side window and sure enough there laid the the tower with the light pod just missing the scale house. When I pulled back around to leave it looked like the driver forgot he was pulling a 53' trailer behind and caught the end of a guard rail ahead of the trailer tandems and the side of the trailer caught the light tower.

About a month later I got pulled in for a DOT inspection (another haz mat load) at a scale on US 30, not to far north of the scene of the Swift light tower downing, and as luck would have it the scale master that was their was the same fellow working the I80 scale a month earlier. When I told him I was the truck that he had inspected just prior to him pulling in the Swift truck that had knocked over the light tower he looked up and started chuckling and said he wondered if that driver had kept his job as it was his first week out solo.

I am not usually one to make light of someone elses misfortune, but man every time I think about that deal I have to laugh and hope that I never have one of those weak moments.

We've all made mistakes. ;) I'll admit i've done some silly things i could've prevented myself.

BUT nobody else was ever injured, and i've kept my job(s).

The fact that nobody gets hurt is all that i ever worry about when i see someone make a silly move. These new swift drivers or any other new drivers for that matter can learn from our advice/mistakes, so let's keep at em :)

my god i was reading about the brotherhood of truckers and how we are all doing the same job i guess that was all nonsense because that was only once and have not read it again. hopefully when you are in an accident or a fix that you cant get out of someone will be there to help you not just laugh and crack jokes. man you guys act as if you never made any mistakes at all...And if you say you haven`t made any then you are just plain lying. I am going to swift and i am a pretty good driver and i hope to meet truckers who are willing to help not laugh. I am so glad that i read this post from all you perfects out there. joe
