Saw a truck today offering $1.05 a miles for owner operators. I'm still laughing

With crappy fuel mileage kittys and not amazing but not terrible fuel discounts, my w900 gets about .65 cpm fuel cost, my t600 hovers near .53 cpm

So no

 

Don't matter when it's that cheap

 

I made a buck a mile as an O/O pulling out of the Chicago railyards. Was happy with it!

1980 rates. Back in 82 melons were paying around 1.25 coming out of the South up to nyc

 

You can still have banging rates and a good surcharge still. The carrier my dad was leased to, on some of their contract freight the surcharge was well north of 50c a mi.

 

Yeah. I know a driver that averages 89 cents a mile , driving a brand new W900 18 speed . Company owner sent the driver to KW to select the color of the truck when they ordered it for him.

 

Pretty sure it’s a Volvo that’s painted white, likely with a Ukrainian flag on the side …

 

I didn’t have a lot of chrome , but I did build a shower and chemical Toilet in it.
