SC vs NC vs GA

    I'm thinking of moving to one of these 3 states. Would you guys please educate me on the con's and pro's of these states.

    Con - They all 3 have personal income taxes.

    There are 7 other states that have no personal income taxes.

    Along the I-85 corridor in SC also the cheapest fuel in the region. NC 2nd best (pre-ifta). GA charges sales tax at the pump, making it the most expensive of the three, pre-ifta. Usually 10¢/gal more than SC.

    Don't be too excited about no-income-tax states. They don't just magically fund their government with less revenue. You will pay that tax somewhere else, usually real estate property tax and ad valorem taxes. If you are a renter, your landlord is paying it and passing it thru on your rent rate. No free lunch.

    don't forget the jacked up sales taxes also in those states with no income tax

    We need more people to pay the Ad Valorem tax here in GA.

    Workers compensation insurance is a good deal more expensive in North Carolina than in the other two states. That likely doesn't matter unless you are planning to run a fleet

    I threw GA in the mix but, I was thinking more of the SC close to Raleigh NC.
