How far forward is your 5th wheel? Should be pretty much centered between the drives. I leave mine about 4in or so back of center. Like 2 notches back

Definitely slide your 5th wheel back a few notches. With your drives being that light, there's absolutely no reason to have that much weight on your steers. Especially considering how light your gross weight is.

Just hope the OP can adjust the 5th wheel. Some carriers have that setting disabled!

Yea I try not to pop my brakes either. When I do, I only do one. Slide your fifth wheel back and that should work. I usually keep mine all the way back or one notch before. The nose of the trailer isn’t usually where the weights at, but when you’re hauling beer or other heavy loads...it happens. If you’re all the way back already (which I doubt) slide your tandems forward. As long as u get to 12,400 or less you’ll be good. Hope that helped someone!

You have GOT to be kidding,,,what's the logic there? One thing for sure, it's not a "large car". Long trucks have a hard time getting any weight on the steer. My Pete,( 262 wb) sliding the 5th wheel forward actually took weight OFF the steer axle. I rarely went over a scale with that truck.

Unfortunately, I am not kidding! The primary reason most carriers disable these 5th wheel adjustments is drivers have a history of damaging the back of tractors, damaging reefers, and playing heck with fairings.
