I passed these scales a few times. There is no building on either the northbound or southbound side, and also no sign to say whether it is open or closed. The scales are not marked on the 2015 motor carrier road atlas either.
One time I passed them without going in, and there was a state trooper parked there, and I thought oh sh--. But he just sat there and didn't chase me down.

This site says "This is a pullout check station- no permanent building."
Does anyone ever get weighed there?

There long ago non active, dot use them as inspection sites for pull overs, or staging for roadworks equip, some guys crash for the night. Once in 10 years i saw a temp sign for lights and brake check. But they havent done that in so long i dont think they do it anymore.
