I causally mentioned to my Ops manager that since I wasn't going to make the 'fuel compliance' standard this quarter I was going to just fuel wherever it was convenient for me for November and December and 'magically' all my non-compliant fueling in October disappeared.
In this case, the OP's hubby is taking out $20 at a time, incurring a $5 charge each time. He doesn't understand how ATMs work or how to manage cash flow, so he's getting screwed time and again.
It's not common sense, because common sense is dependent on a common understanding of how the world works. Critical thinking questions the underlying assumptions and challenges/overcomes the obstacles.nredfor88 and Moosetek13 Thank this. -
If anyone besides an officer asks what you're hauling, just tell them F.A.K.(stands for Freight All Kinds). This is typically what's listed on a CAT scale ticket.

There's also an enterprising fellow who set up a scale down the street from a nestle plant in Florida that only does (did) - next closest scale was 60 miles away. He, his wife and at least one kid live in the trailer home that also serves as a scale office on a half acre plot next door to a gas station. Nice guy, comes out to help adjust tandems.SoulScream84 and Numb Thank this. -
You know it’s an old thread when the second post talks about the CB channel to use for scaling at FJ.

On a side note, anyone paying cash when they take a card is a fool, and we all know who is soon parted from his money, right?
If your company pays via card, then do that and have them pay it. If not, however (or if they let you use the card but deduct from your check until they get a copy of the ticket), use a rewards card to pay it and pay the card off twice per month.
Example: CAT scales are now $13. If I use my 1.75% cash rewards card to pay it, I will earn 23 cents in cash rewards each time. If I scale 300 times per year using this card, that will earn me $69 cash. If the company reimburses me for the purchases without fail, I am now $69 richer.
Compare this to paying $5 in fees each time, where the driver in question would be losing $1,500 every year in transaction fees, a difference of $1569.SoulScream84 Thanks this.
