the new ones for us were not necessarily "new" but they werent there from the beginning...it was insurance on the truck, which totalled something like 600 a month and then there were "monthly" charges that we didnt know about...for flyin j scan, qualcomm, apu, ect. i'm sure i'll get some flack from some of you saying " why didnt you ask or thats normal". well it wasnt known to us. also, no one told him that he would have to pay for his hotel and bus ride. they took that out a month later and when he called to ask about it, the girl told him "i forgot to tell you about that". well thanks. he is taking the truck back tuesday. thanks to dart, we couldnt buy our children anything for christmas and we we have a total of 54 dollars to our name.

Since you find banks pesky,do you suggest that others do like you and utilize a chain drive wallet? Is yours compartimentalized, separating the important papers from all that money?
You are one negative super trucking know it all driver. I type in awe.
I'd almost bet that you are an EX carpet hauler and drove for charles prater and called him daddy- -
it ain't just dart, ladies and gents. it's everyone who leases trucks.
rule 1. you don't #### where you eat. you never borrow money or anything
else from the man you work for. you wantabeanowneroperator?
THEN BE ONE.
buy a truck , trailer, whatever else. then run it like a trucking company, not a company driver with another mortgage. ATS in Minnesota made more money screwing o/o's and selling wore out company trucks for $500 down than they ever made hauling their own freight. and this was over 15 years ago. same ole tricks, just new suckers lining up.they all do it, they always have. more charges, addons, crap. same ole thing over and over and over. all the bottom feeders monitor your money. all of them will line up to float you some for that set of steer tires. then you move to indentured servitude. wake up.bulldozerbert Thanks this. -
Sorry You had such a bad experience with DART. My husband and 2 others i know who drive/drove for DART did very well. Your truck a 2007 makes for a higher daily payment for one. another, were you topping your tanks every time you fueled? In order to make money with your payments coming out daily, you need to fuel enough to get your load delivered and a little extra to get you to the next truck stop, scan your paperwork, get paid, then fill up the truck. If you fuel up all the way then your paycheck just went into your tanks darlin. Take a look at your paystubs, and find one for 1 day of payments on everything. then you will know how much all your payments are for a day. Then what you do is take what load they are giving you, by how many days they give you to deliver, (take in account weekends, they can kick ya in the butt, cause after 4 pm friday you won't get paid til monday, unless you are at a terminal on saturday) and make sure when you scan in your paperwork during the week as well, if you don't have them scanned in before 4 pm you have to wait to get paid on the next day. But take your daily payments and subtract how many days payments by how many days you will have that load info. DO NOT HOLD YOUR TRIPS!!!! Send them in after you deliver. you can hold 1 now and then but never hold them all week long. Then figure how much fuel you might need for the load don't fill up the tanks all the time. If you do, your paycheck will disappear. Hope this helps hun.

p.s. what happened to your truck to put it in the shop for 2 1/2 weeks? You checked it out before you accepted it right?Bigdaddy00 Thanks this. -
Just another trucking company surviving cause the driver is making the payments for them.
Please do yourself a favor and run away from LEASE DEALS because the owner will screw you for all you are worth. -
No offense - good advice ... but why didn't that advice work for you and JBHunt?
It just seems like some people "luck out" with some of the companies some of the time.
But in general not worth the risk ...

I don't agree with your fuel idea sounds like something a company tells a poor ol sap to try and cover up why they aint making any money cause of high truck payment and lack of miles. Fuel does not go bad if you don't use it on this trip it will still be good and will be used next trip. I'm sorry but if you are living day to day trip to trip and have to bye 40 or 50 gallons at a time I don't think ya got a very good business plan just my 2 cents. Check and know the price of fuel along the trip and top off tanks where its cheap. It sounds like you would buy enough to get into cali than have to pay extra in fuel just to get out. 40 cent a gallon for a 100 gallons is 40 bucks, pay that extra all the time and it will be a slow long death.zentrucking Thanks this.

Hmmmmmmmm......I don't have a "chain drive wallet".
I've watched too many hard working drivers get beat down and fleeced by sleezbag companies like Dart.
I don't know it all but I know enough.
Who? -
Thank you - and that's true ... unless your going home on vacation, or in a high fuel area there is really no reason not to top off. This is just fuel available for the next load.
Repeated fuel stops 'burn fuel", time, and energy - and yes this is a company idea to take the responsibility and burden of providing the miles to make a living.
The difference - while normally should be the difference between a $1000 or a $1400 check - instead just some money or being in the hole??
And we're supposed to buy into this thinking??
One of the biggest jokes in trucking ...

Well what my wife was trying to say!!! Is don't stop 100-200 miles from delivery and top the tanks off. And as far as Dart goes, they do have great fuel discounts if you check the fuel pricing list that you can access online. Part of your trip planning as an O/O is to know where you are going and to price the fuel. And when i was headed into a high fuel priced area I would top off the tanks so I would save money, I just wouldn't scan in my paperwork for that trip so my next trip would be almost all profit minus the fixed expenses.
