Some people are not cut out to work for themselves.
Why don't you go get a job with a union company and let the teamsters take care of you.
Like most companys they shake out the ones that don't fit their system, or spend all their time at the yard crying and complaining because thy didn't read the contract.
You can be fired from any company for any reason. It called freedom look it up.:biggrin_25513:

It boggles my mind why anyone would want to lease a truck in this day and age. Essentially if you lease a new truck, you are setting yourself up for failure sooner or later, on top of making your companies truck payment for them. And you have to work twice as hard as a company driver just to make ends meet. Even if you survive the lease, you end up with a rig that is worth probably half of its original value, if you're lucky.

And staying away from a company like Dart, England or Knight goes without saying. They are nothing more than Swift or Werner by a different name.

If you lease a new truck and don't have a good amount of money to put down, you are asking for bankruptcy. It's no different than buying a new house, car, or anything frivalous. If you can barely make payments running good paying loads with high miles, how do you expect to survive the bad times like the past 3 years have been?

Why not just save some money up as a company driver for a few years, then buy a decent used truck for under $50,000? I've seen guys make a killing in old freightliner and International Cabovers that cost them under 10K. But no, we have stars in our eyes and want that shiny long nose Pete or KW, just like da big guys... There are plenty of outfits that will hire you if you have an old, reliable truck. Just don't look for these companies in the truck stop toilet paper magazine rack. Good companies almost never advertise, they hang on to good drivers.

I got news for you, If its a big truck, It WILL break down sooner or later, no matter what kind of hood ornament it has, or how new or old it is. I would much rather deal with breaking down in a 2004 International thats paid for, has a simple (by 2010 standards) Kitty Cat, Cummins or gremlin under the hood. A guy would go broke in seconds dealing with a new truck with 2010 emissions that's sure to be a moneypit, headache, and nightmare and fuel slurping pig.

Basically the same thing happened to hubby with JB Hunt. I sent an email to their web masters blasting their web site for false advertising. It was forwarded to the VP of their leasing department. He tried to tell me it was my husband's fault but I shot back at him and told him that we want out of the contract with NO early termination penalties or we will sue. I told them we had an attorney already who was just waiting for us to give him the word to file. The end result was hubby was let out of the lease with no penalties. I would cc every email to our attorney.
