Parts for all trucks are readily available here in kenya, though i did not know about their (113) weak differential issue any remedy for that?
All do not have retarder i guess i have to rely heavily on the exhaust brake.
What kind of truck would be good for a gvw of 56 ton, that is besides the available choices.
Thank you.

My goodness are they that bad on the 113 scania
-
the highest hp available is 420hp
-
yes 56 ton is metric.
I will be pulling a draw bar trailer with 3 axles, so a total of 7 axles for 56 -
Lowest tare tells me you want cheap paper truck easily breaking under 54 ton. I would go opposite and spend a dollar for the strongest truck for 54 ton work. Don't you agree?
-
i would agree 100% but it will affect my payload that is the main worry, its been bothering how to balance between truck strength and penalizing the payload
-
At 54 ton, ha... whats 2000 pounds to you? 1.00?
Buy a good truck and be happy.
The reason I say this is because too many people think they know how to ask a truck to build for a company over here. Then they wonder why its all broken and wore out in 3 years doing just 40 ton. Thats nothing against your 54 ton. -
Actually its 56 ton
i would agree, truck specing, is really tricky especially if you are looking at longevity.
I was thinking may be adjusting diff ratio would help -
That will help. Don't try to be like tall gears around 2.60 you will only hurt the truck. Make it maybe 3.50 or so. And add enough gearing until you can hold cruise speed with it on your transmission, it goes without saying you probably will require a 18 speed.
Then big enough fuel tanks to put in a whole days work. And then some. -
th
The current diff ratio on the truck am seeking to purchase is 3.42, the torque is at 1660 and 360 hp
the fuel tank is 300 litres but since i will be doing short haul am not bothered about it.(400km)
i would be ok with a fuel consumption of 2.2km per litre when fully laden, but i do not know if that is achievable basically in mpg terms that is 5.3 mpg
