I'm looking for a good diagnostic tool for scania g380. I searched the internet and there is a scania vci2.
Is this tool good for g380?
Any better suggestions?[/FONT]

VCI-2 is for newer trucks only. for older - VCI-1.
G380 - G-is frame capasity, 380 - engine output. So to give you advice I need to know year of make, engine type, but better VIN.
This is US truck forum.... Where are you from? -
g are from late 2007 and later
so i guess you know answer -
I'm curious as to how many of the Scania's sold in the US in the '80's are still running?
-
lot of them still works because there is few workshops which import trucks from europe for parts -
It's 2008 g380. But I buy the tool not only for g380.
Because most scania truck diagnostic tools are expensive, it will be better to be applicable for most scania common trucks. -
so for early scania trucks you need VCI-1, for late VCI-2. That's all!)

Gotta give the guy props though, that's a lot of dedication to keep something like that afloat. -
In our town there's an old, red two stroke Citroen automobile that I've seen once in awhile- since 1977. The driver used to be in the AF, now I think he's a retiree. It smokes as much today as it did in 1977. He has more balls than I do, I couldn't stand the shame and embarrassment of being seen in it.
We laughed at him back then, it still causes chuckles.Last edited: Sep 27, 2011
