Yeah I think I would leave the two pedal oc for a while and let them iron out any potential problems, I like Havin a clutch pedal anyway

Finally home after and had a sleep. And now I can compare. Was an R480 this week. About the same route. About the same weight.
First of all, higher consumption than the 620. 39,8l/100km and that is ####### bad. Slow as hell as well. I take a fh440 over that ####. Never thought I say it but holly #### I miss that opticruise now. The 480 was a manual and it's over half a year since I last drove a manual.

    also question for you

    which r480

    e4 or e5

    it is not same thing

480 use 11.7L engine from 1995Y with turbocompound and hpi and that engine had just add on egr and it is not good on fuel and also performance

470 e4 is even worse but 470 e3 is best engine on fuel

and had pretty good performance lot of people says that 164 480 and r500 are pointless because of r470

and r480 e5 is another story it is designed for egr have lot of technics

and it is very good on fuel

only mercedes xx48 v6 can stand side by side with dc13 07 and scania new r series is little better than this merc

dc13 07 in old r series use same fuel as r500 e5 (dc16 19) but r500 e5 use another 2L of ad blue which can be very expensive if you are small carrier here is over 1.2€/L for good one bad will cause lot of problems with system)

new r series use 1L less than old in comparison

i should to predict this your market is very oriented on those egr e4 engines

i heard that is best thing to buy r420 e4 and chip it

here there is only few numbers of egr e4 trucks we used to buy e3 until 2008

and here 420 and 500 are most popular e5

in last time there is more and more 400 and 440 egr e5

e4, an -07 I think it was. About 600 000 on the clock so just new.
Well there are a lot of hard hills. Kilipisjärvi is quite hard and so i also the road out to Senjahoppen in Norway, also a bit of the High Coast in Sweden this week so it sure has done it's work.
Im not going to say that I'm the best at a manual. But I do know how to drive it.
Just not that found of it know when you have driven an Auto for a long time.

those comparisations between r480 and r500 was with 40ton in driving in central europe or here in south east

maybe r500 or stronger could be more economic than r480 with your 48-50ton 3+3setups and such hard roads

    in norway

I'd say it was an e4, early 2008 registration, too early for e5, the engine in that truck has already exploded because the bolts holding the cam shaft broke, a fault with early r480's
