question to guys from Australia , i saw scania exposed 730 on brisbane motor show this year

and i see it have XW (extra wide) fuel tanks

scania have 3 different types of fuel tanks

G-general they are not tall used generally in construction on extra low tractors and in poor markets with bad roads they come with 150 200 300 and 450L and build from steel

W-wide , they are mostly aluminum but 2come as double aluminum or steel , capacity 150,175,200,300,350,400,470,500,570,600,625,650,700L also i saw australian trucks come with 670 and 750L capacity

XW appear on market in 9/2009 and they are aluminum only , offered as 320, 390,500,540,550,610,620,640,700,710,750,860,950,1000L

here is picture from big lorry blog, and it is clear xw tank now are you able to find out wheelbase and how much L it have, on 3100mm 710tank fit on left side but i am not sure does 860L fit on 3300mm , on right side with 3100wheelbase normally is possible to fit W300 tank

and on 3300mm wheelbase W350 or XW390 , but now scania offer adblue inside chassis rail so on 3100 you can fit XW500 so 1210L on 3100mm , and for 3300 i am not sure how big fit but it is 550 or even 620L

from this picture i can see it is not inside but on normal possition

98989- pretty sure scanias down here run just under 1000L fuel capacity on 3300 WB, with a 700+370 tank combo, though I did hear things about them doing mods to increase this. I have seen some new, as in brand new Scanias with 2 5-600L sized tanks (judging by size) with 2-3 adblue tanks mounted behind the cab.

hey i found video from brisbane truck show it says 710+320 so this is 3100mm wheelbase, recently scania offered in chassis ad blue tanks with up to 100L

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-F__BOUHJs

about adblue tank behind cab not sure in this because scania trucks had problems before with this so scania say it tank must remain in same height as from factory .....

btw saw scania mining demo trucks having 2x500L fuel tanks on left and batteries on left , on right side not sure it is single tank larger volume probably 700L or more (it have 4belts) and 2 adblue tanks on right, truck is r620 with 4500mm wheelbase on all steel suspension hub reduction axles ebs and drum brakes, also hydraulic and water tanks and spare wheel with electric winch and ringfeder trailer hitch and other stuff required for this , hauling 200t gross

A lot of those heavy haul trucks also have permits to run 7 tonne on the steers. My friend has a 4 volvo 8x4 single steers running quad road train
side tippers in Darwin and he has an extra 1000L tank behind the cab. If he didn't have the permits he would have to run twin steers.
It's not just for the range either that they need the big tanks its also to have enough capacity so the fuel gets time to cool. It is very common for the tanks to get so hot that you can't touch them even with big fuel coolers.

This isn't his truck but it is exactly the same including the azmeb trailers.

Also the 730 was released about 2-3 years ago

I would also be wary of only having 100L of adblue, still pretty hard to get over here as not many service stations have it.
    I think the kw's with the isxe5 have 200+ L tanks

also scania doesnt offer vertical scr muffler as volvo, they standart euro scr catalyst eats significant amount of space which could been use for fuel storage otherwise

Volvo did mount the standard scr cat on top of the chassis before they had the vertical. Can't see why Scania can't do that

we can go even up to 10t on front of course only few do this steering is too difficult , my 4axle mercedes have pretty long wheelbase and when have 45t gross about 18.5-19t goes on front and it ride like crap

we get 730 in april 2010 , you in may 2011 , now this year they will put something stronger and in spring next year volvo probably 800hp

nice to see they still fit 1360L ( not 100% sure in this capacity but this was on old fh with raised scr cat) in combination with new cab , usually new cabs are too heavy

seems to me volvo is much more flexible on your market , also tridem drive axles and other things
