Call Werner and tell them you think the truck might be at risk with all the crime at this hotel. That might get you moved faster. Ask for a qualcom message relieving you of responsibility for any damage that might occur to the truck at this hotel. Tell them you are pissing off the pimps and drug dealers because you are not using their services and are afraid they will damage your truck.

You think Lane Ave is bad.I can ride up and take you into area that you will crap your pants since Lane Ave scares you. That area is a little rough but not that bad. I do agree that your trainer should have put you up in another part of town.Like Orange Park Blanding Blvd would be much better for you and more options for food. You should have trainer number call and request to be moved. If he says no F him call your SDM and explain the details and get moved to where you feel safe. You have access to the truck send a message that way you have it in writing.:) If I saw this post yesterday I would have came by and helped get you moved.

please read my first post, I don't think your being "pathetic" or "naive"
get home and quit these ######, if this is your first expierence where do think it goes from there. I been doin this over twenty years and highly suggest you complain to the labour department, explaing to them what you've said here and make sure you get paid for all your time.
i kno jobs are not easy to come by but you can do better.

now i didn't say old farm boy.. i said farm rube lol. there are still many many naive youngsters that have led a somewhat sheltered life and some of the "big city" things do come as a huge shock when they experience them 1st hand for the first time.

most of them old farm boys are southern ha ha

i wasn't specifically blaming the "old timers". i do agree those that have joined the industry in the last 10 yrs or so are more after that "oh yeah big money in trucking" paycheck (recruiter lie lol).

though a lot of newbs won't ask for help from fear of being ridiculed by those with the experience (and this does happen).. on the other shoe a lot of the younger newbs know everything and just won't heed the wiser of us. fault falls on both sides

i remember a time when if a truck was on the side of the road 5 drivers would stop to see if they could help. now you're dang lucky if you can get a driver from your OWN company to stop and check on you. also remember a time when you'd see a semi stopped behind a 4 wheeler offering to help change that flat tire. it is a shame those days, much like the dodo bird are long gone.

The last thing you want to do is smack a hooker, if she doesn't beat your ### her pimp is going to. If you want to get thick skin, get out of your room and hang out with your new found friends, learn the lingo, get a big chain and put it around your neck, let your pants drag the ground, throw a wife beater shirt on, don't take a bath for awhile and let everyone know you just got out of the joint. If anyone ask your name don't tell them it is "OPIE" come up with a tuff nickname like "Butcher". If they ask where you are from say Detroit not Minnesotaaaaa. By the time your trainer gets back you won't be scared no more.

You gotta toughen up pronto there supreme. Your body language can speak volumes. Gosh.. be on guard and don't let anybody do that again (if you're still there). Block the door with your body. And then shut it. Or don't even open it.

Man anybody tried that #### on me and there would be some patches of hair flying. :biggrin_2557: (well not really but I used to be like you... not very strong boundries. And i got walked on so often that i know exactly how now, and am not shy about making people feel real uncomfortable when i am not happy.
