Did I miss the point? The guy has been sitting for a week in a f****** infested motel with his life endangered while his trainer is on home time? This is with Werner one of the biggest trucking companies in the U.S?
Tell me what I'm missing here cuz I see no humor in this.
I mean other than the obvious for those of us who been around a while. Ya his trainer is at home laughing ok but this is a new driver to your company and this is how they get treated?
Maybe Americans just do things much differently than I even imagine.
I know there's thirty million illegal Mexican immigrants in your country but this guy is from MN and probably doesn't even speak Spanish, yet?:biggrin_2558:

For the next person who has this experience, shoot me a PM. I'll tell you a better place to get put up in. Like some one said before, Orange park (Blanding Blvd) does have a few places on it. I know there was one alittle ways past the Orange Park, Mall by Orange Park Highschool off Kingsley Ave.

    Few others as well.

You better learn real quick how to carry yourself or your gonna end up gettin mugged at a Truck Stop son!

    Walk with a purpose

Don't look directly at them but look enough to be aware of your surroundings

Lane Ave was on my route when I drove a Beer Truck in Jax, trust me your not even in a really bad part of town!.....................lol

I am surprised Werner puts you in that Motel. Hell CRST wouldnt even let us park anywhere in Jacksonville!

Trainees don't have DM's and if you did chances are they don't care.

I wonder if constantly calling JAX police would yield any results? They have to respond to complaints. Have them visit you in your room.

BTW I didn't know you had to open the door for a #####. I just wave them off. No conversation required.

I don't think the police could help him, he would need to call animal control for help with the coach roaches. And for letting the hooker in, he was either looking for friendly conversation with no obligation or thought it was room service.

Perhaps the OP should consider this his introduction to truckstop etiquette. Unless he quits the industry this won't be the last time he finds himself sleeping in a parking lot full of hookers and drug dealers...

It takes balls to drive a truck, and I mean that in respect to every aspect of the job, not just in dealing with the lowlifes we all encounter out here. Shoot, I've met a few lot lizards that I'd introduce to my momma a lot sooner than I would some the shipping clerks and security guards I've had to deal with. But seriously, I think there's a necessary lesson here, and it's a good thing he's getting it before he's sent out on his own, driving solo and responsible for expensive equipment, valuable cargo, life and property.
