In this case a picture is not worth much... definitely not a thousand words.
There is a steep long section of highway with a runaway truck ramp in the "middle of town". October 1989 a truck hit 13 vehicles and killed five people. There are numerous runaways and truck fires going uphill. It is not a place for newbs to be learning to drive while hauling fuel.

I was in Kelowna to visit daughter. I would not mind moving there but the lots in her 'hood were $500K, I'd be living in my van down by the river.
Seems to be enough driving jobs there of all sorts. -
