In this case a picture is not worth much... definitely not a thousand words.

There is a steep long section of highway with a runaway truck ramp in the "middle of town". October 1989 a truck hit 13 vehicles and killed five people. There are numerous runaways and truck fires going uphill. It is not a place for newbs to be learning to drive while hauling fuel.

    AModelCat and Canucklehead Thank this.

My sister and niece and her family live and work in Ladner. I could do that... it's like a world removed from Vancouver.

If I was ever going to move back to BC about the only area I'd really want to go is somewhere around Revelstoke.

5A coming into town the back way from Merritt would be a great road for a new driver to learn how to handle a fuel truck.

What about Highway 1 from Kamloops out to Lytton? That's probably as bad or worse than 5A.

I was in Kelowna to visit daughter. I would not mind moving there but the lots in her 'hood were $500K, I'd be living in my van down by the river:D.
Seems to be enough driving jobs there of all sorts.

I used to live in Falkland. I used the Kamloops ByPass to miss all the traffic. You know, from Westwold across Douglas Lake Ranch to the Coq.
