I have just passed my CDL A testing at motor vehicles. I am looking into Schneider bulk / tanker. Is there anything I should do to prepare for their school (I have heard some call schneider tanker boot camp). Is there anything I should get prior to going to training and what should I expect it to be like if I go to their school. The company looks like an excellent place to get started and learn.
Thanks for any info.

Main issue is heart rate test. If you flunk it there's no second chance with Schneider Bulk.
Can't blame the company either; they don't want a tanker driver getting dizzy while climbing on top of a tanker. Most new drivers that are aware of this during school will practice by doing stair steps excercise, brisk walks, etc.
There's several tanker companies that hire new cdl grads and they all have some type of agility test.White_Knuckle_Newbie, Puppage and BayouBlue Thank this. -
Thanks Chinatown, I did look on Schneider's website and there is a pdf of Atlas Ergonomics agility testing. I assume that is it. Thank you, that is some of the kind of info I was looking for.

The 'tests' are quite easy. Unless you have a medical condition, or have bad mobility, you shouldn't have an issue

I should be fine. I was really trying to get an idea of what to expect. Maybe things I might need also. It says somewhere that schneider issues safety gear. I also have been looking at the trailers, they seem to be shorter with tandem closer to rear bumber, probably easier to see what is going on while backing and not a lot of hang over to the rear like a 53 set up for CA.

There a check list of things you should bring on the SNI website, but there really isn't anything special you'll need it want to do prior, other than bring your A game and be willing to learn. Your first 3-4 days will be going through all the SNI policy and propaganda, getting your drug tests and your DOT physical done and class room time. I'm not sure how long the bulk training is. But SNI has some of the better training for bulk(maybe because they do so much of it? Lol)

Take your time on the balance beam when being tested. If you lose your balance and fall off twice they will send you home. Can't test again until a week later.
