I wish i would've been old enough to drive in the 70's and 80's when trucking was in it's hey day but i know there have been improvements in trucks and all but i think it cost us the soul of a trucker. Seems like now the new driver's and i exclude myself just because i feel as though there is no camaraderie between most trucker's but i do try and resemble what i think a trucker was.

they are air tanks but drain every time you disconnect from the trailer. No need to drain them since they drain every time you disconnect right?

depends on the trailer. I didn't read back far enough to know what was being discussed.

old trailers are alot different then new ones. you know that at one time you had to supply air to the trailer to set the brakes. now we dump the air and the spring cans set them. used to be many a dropped trailer had rolled away. lol. and you would have to hook up your air lines before you back under it so you could put air to it to hold it still. otherwise you just chased it all around the lot in reverse :biggrin_25516:

I did not mean to imply you were old....LOL and i've had a few trailer's where i had to hook up the air line first in order to backunder but that was back in late 90's.

to be honest i'm not sure if they exhaust all the air. these are the first spring ride trailers I have pulled since I sold my Polar reefer in 1994
