Vacation pay ?? Have you taken vacation?

I took mine before workflow. I'm not aware of any changes, yet.

But policy is, you have to take the vacation to get the check. OR...you can get the check on your next anniversary. Vacation time runs Sunday - Saturday if I remember correctly.

Not so sure on that one. Mine was a tad over $700 (bring home). I hired in, in November. Took vacation in late November the next year.

Keep in mind, I ran regional for 6 months, then went to Home Run 14/7.

January to Mid April on regional.
Mid April to November on home run.

You got me HOPING I lost money LOL.

To have any shot of understanding the new vacation pay you need to log into crossroads and read the whole update. Why they tried to explain it in a QC message is beyond me.

From what I gather the change is neutral for most of us and beneficial to those who earn less than $500 a week. It clarifies how much you'll get paid for your vacation time (last years w2 divided by 50), with the magic number changing in Feb. So if you take vacation the fourth week of January 2012 you'll be based of of your 2010 w2. If you take the first week of February you're going to be using 2011.

It also looks like we'll be able to take vacation in single day increments with approval from our Dear Benevolent Leader.

RubberDucky - I run midwest regional out of Green Bay. I could be home at least every other weekend but it works better for me to run 25-30 days and then take 5-6 days off. Average gross pay is between $1000 and $1200 depending on accessory pay.

WTF, when I first started I was making $500-$800 per week, ever since workflow I've been getting $200-$400 paychecks. My last pay check was $750 and is the highest since I started workflow 3 months ago. Also, it doesn't appear that I got a raise since the 24th of march was my 6 months. Not to mention I was told that I'd get a raise every 3 months. I also havnt recieved any quarterly bonuses.

And also, the 4 stop driver hand unload pier 1 load I had, its only a $100 bucks more, no $15 for each additional stop after the first...... It also appears I havnt been getting all the short haul pay I should be getting..... I have too much #### to look into and no time to do it!

    You worry too much. :biggrin_2559:

The "programs" that Schneider offers are so varied, if you stuck 10 of us in the same room. The weekly average MIGHT be $500 a week bring home, and that would depend a lot on whether all 10 of those drivers actually worked last week, to get a check.

What you are seeing throughout this thread, is the wide range of pay, brought to you by drivers who run on different schedules/programs.

You really need to get with your DBL. They can resolve this in a matter of a couple of days, if not hours.

I keep a close eye on my pay. And my DBL KNOWS, I'll be all over that phone until I get resolution.

Quarterly bonuses have so many variables. It's really difficult to provide you with any insight into why you haven't gotten one.

Idle time is the BIG killer of most quarterly bonuses.

The top 4 metrics your bonus is tracked on.
Idle time, out of route, fuel stops, and over speed.

My idle time for this quarter is less than 3% (5% max this quarter and last)
My out of route is less than 2%. (I run a lot of back roads ;) )
Over speed is just over 3% (5% max allowed)
Fuel Stop compliance is a tad over 75% (70% being the minimum required)

FYI, you don't get the raise until the 1st of the month following 6 months of service. Hence, any loads on or after April 1st would be under the higher pay rate for you. Keep an eye on your next check to make sure you get the increase. I got pissed off about the same issue at the 6 month window. In regards to the raise every 3 months, I don't think that was accurate. As far as I'm concerned and from what I was told, you get a raise after 6 months, then after 1 year, then after that I believe it's annual on a performance basis. Then again, they have so many different arrangements around the country and at different OC's who knows what the case is.

In regards to the multi stop, complain to your DBL. Not sure if since you had a hand unload it nullifies the multi stop pay. That would suck if it did, but your DBL can override that. But in regards to your bonus in particular, always ask and complain about that.

And in regards to your quarterly bonus, you need to ask your DBL about that every quarter. They don't just give it to you unless your DBL authorizes it.

The key here as you can see, complain to your DBL about your pay. It sucks that you have to, but at least they know what you expect and they'll hopefully not want to hear you complaining constantly so they'll take care of it ahead of time from that point on (you would hope). Oh yeah, complain about miles, about getting assigned loads that make you sit too long, etc etc. Don't complain too much though, pick your battles
