Delivered my first load today. Computer said 30 minute live unload. Turned into an 8 hour live unload. At least I was within range of the Indy OC so I could get a shower and food tonight.
Took the consignee 5 hours to actually unload me after I was in the dock. Backing into the dock took me about 15-20 minutes because they had barely enough room and I had to half way blind side it in because they had trailers lined up in front of the dock area. One of their yard jockeys was nice enough to stop and give me a hand with guiding it in. I figure it was mostly because he wanted to drop his trailer and was tired of waiting for me to back it in.
First load was 6k lbs of cans. Load I'm under now is 8K lbs. 575 miles total for my first 2 days. -
If you see an average unload time of 30 minutes it usually means most the loads are drop and hooks. I have gotten thatvat dollar general dc a few times.

hrtbr8kr, you left off the incompetent public relations head aka the President. they figured it was incomplete without him on the list...

I guess it's best to wait on what you want than settle for what you don't

Companyman, I see you have a Cat now, do you have any experience with the Cummins?
I personally like the Detroits for EGR power as I have had much less problem with them and better MPG. -
So iguess tomorrow's the day for new regulations from the goverment of these socialist state. looks like were gonna lose 1 hour of drive time from 11 to 10. I've been reading other posts and they seem to say hardly anyone uses the extra hour anyway. Well i used it quite often especially looking for parking, the hour made a huge difference. no wonder the teamsters backed it they are gonna try and use it as a recruiting tool watch and see. It's amazing the policy makers who make the rules have never driven a truck and they want to tell US the best way too.
