My plan and dream is to get my own truck. I prefer to run balls out, if I'm busy I'm happy, if not i get bored quickly. I'd love to be able to pick my own loads.

But at 29 cpm, its gonna be a while before I have even close to enough cash saved up.
-
Having your own truck bought and paid for is a money machine. I have a friend that rakes in close to 200k a year. Sure you have to put in the work but just like anything it pays off.
I would love to have my own truck, but I don't see it happening for a long time. -
I've got a tension headache. still no empty. Informed support of this at 0930 when I called in to request MY ASSIGNMENT an hour and a half AFTER my NAT time!~!!!!! asked them to MAKE SURE there was pick up mt task added to the assignment.
Am supposed to get a P&G load that delivers at 0200 on the 5th. dont like that but ok . HAD a plan that seemed feasible. Its now 1645 it was ready at 1600. MY plan was to get half way, shut down for my ten. then finish the run getting to within 20 miles or so of live unload and shut down for ten. Starting my 14 an hour or so before delivery. Made ok sense to me. thats kinda out the window. close to saying screw it and waiting til dbl gets in tomorrow morning. -
Well, had my first tire blow out while driving just now. Front, driverside, inside trailer blew out. Almost a brand new re cap too. Sucky part is I'm off I5 in the mountains up by shasta lake, 147 miles from where i was planning on stopping, 3 hours and 17 minutes left to drive, and 3.5 hours left on my 14....
-
Eta for roadside is 1.5 hours.

Took my first trip into California today, I had to deliver TO the Fontana OC, delivered "green wing" side skirts for our trailers.
First, let me say this, and no offense to you western 11 drivers, you can have California, if I never come back here it will be to soon! This split 70/55 speed limit is not only dangerous, but just a money grab by the state of California. I was driving 56mph on I40, and a state trooper pulled over a big truck that had just passed me, he couldn't have been going more than 58 as it took him like 4 miles to pass me, and he wasn't even holding up traffic because it was 3 lanes. Thank goodness I am off to Nevada tomorrow, but it looks like a crappy drive up to Reno.
Second, the Fontana OC leaves a lot to be desired, lets just leave it at that LOL. -
Lol, sometimes I wish California would just dissapear. Unfortunately I spend a lot of time in it, in fact I'm currently in Cali.
-
If Cali disappeared. The only thing we would have left to complain about would be politics. Oh wait, that's right. They create 90% of our political screw ups and regulations.
So I guess that leaves us with nothing.oragonads and Freestyle12 Thank this. -
yea I am spending the night at the Fontana OC, then off to Reno in the morning, the drive up 395 looks real crappy, with no where to stop until Reno, hope I can make it.
