Stuck in Assachussetts, awaiting a new assignment after the one I was suppose to go to got snowballed by an all night live load and retread blow out today. Was told freights soft in MAss, really? It is fourth of July after all, but fret not I for if their task to keep me moving fails, my eager husband hatched a scheme to see me. Yup, gotta love the unpredictability of trucking. Never boring, but plenty of fodder to b**ch about.

come back from TAH today, to find out my DBL has been out for a week, and no one will tell me why.
Then, my "fill in" dbl sends me my load, at first I was like cool, 600 miles.....then reality set in, to Queens NY, BLAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I hate NY, what a nice present after TAH. -
Any advice on how to move from a dedicated account to drive regional in a different region when your DBL and office manager say you cannot transfer? This lane and move to this part of the country are not working for me.
I hesitate to push too hard about this in my local office because the quality of my work/living experience here has a lot to do with the truck I'm assigned (slip seat job) and the loads I'm given. If the only way to get this done is to have a big dispute with the people who control how much money I make and whether or not I drive the oldest, nastiest truck in the yard I might as well just go find another job where I want to live because I'm not prepared to wait here getting ###### trucks and 1500 miles a week until they decide it's ok to "release" me to another lane.
FWIW and for any schneider people reading this, I've mostly had a good experience in this company and I would really like to stay with the company; I have personal reasons for needing to return to another part of the country and work a different schedule. I recognize some of these dedicated lanes need drivers and can understand why they'd do whatever they can do to keep drivers. My case here is that I've done good work here and all I'm asking is to go do good work somewhere else that works better for me. It's not a lot to ask, especially when there are open jobs paying recruitment bonuses where I want to go.
Thanks in advance for your advice. If you have any specifics on who to speak with or email I would appreciate them. -
I would advise them your not asking but telling them your moving then contact the DBL where your moving to and ask if they can assist you. Be sure they are hiring where you are moving first if your a good driver they'll help.

If I find out my DBL is gone, cause they are being all hush hush, I will be informing them I am moving to one of the dedicated accounts here. My DBL is the only reason I have stayed OTR. If they won't let me move, I will be moving on.
