Just discussing the odd (and so common) viewing habits of truckers, not politics. I am a non Fox News viewing, anti-crime mystery watching trucker who'd just like to watch something good once in a while. :)

Well as long as my drug tests check out I should be heading to Fontana OC for orientation on Monday. I am pretty excited. My last job's break room had the very same tv shows on all the time too when all I wanted was to sleep or watch comedies :biggrin_25517:.

You ever had a delivery at a place and you know you've been there before but you can't remember the place, then you pull up to it and remember it only thinking "oh yea, I remember this place, this is gonna suck"?

Appointment was at 11:00, I arrived at 10:50, its now 12:40 and I'm still waiting for a door. What's the point of having an appointment if I have to sit for hours just to get unloaded. I've already sat for 43 hours just waiting for the appointment...

I get that often also from homeless people. Hungry but picky...won't accept a sandwich and fruit...they want a full 4 course meal....lobster tastes on a bologna budget....rather NO budget :biggrin_2552: OR, I offer to buy the person food and they tell me they just want the money so they can get what they want :biggrin_2552:. Then they get an attitude and want to spit on your car because you're not giving them what they demand. Seriously?!?!

I got a TV in my truck and watch what i want to. If i am close to a bigger city I can pick up 30 to 50 channels most of the time. If I am some were with no reception I always keep movies with me to watch. Its alot more comfortable to stretch out in the sleeper and watch tv then some truck stop tv room. Just my two cents worth.

I just connect my phone to my laptop for internet and watch netflix or movies online. While at home I download new movies onto my laptop for times I don't have internet connection.

I have a portable wifi thingy, and am easily entertained by the interwebs. But, it'd be nice to sit at Gary and have something different to watch. Communal television watching in driver lounges is a little awkward for me.

Get a TV that you can plug into your trucks cigarette lighter unless you have an inverter for your truck. Also get one with a built in DVD player, there easier to find at a truck stop alot of the walmarts dont carry the TV and CD player combos anymore. Mine cost me around $250.00 at Flying J. Then hook your trucks tv antenna cord into the tv and use your remote to do a quick channel search and presto you can watch tv from your truck. The antenna cord is up in the square hole were your tv goes. You can buy movies for 5 dollars and up at walmart usually older titles but alot of selections for when you cant pick up any channels on your tv. But most places that I take a break I can pick up alot of local channels on my tv. :)
