That simulator is a piece of junk. When I took my 90 day review they made me use that instead of going for an actual drive.

Even with me sitting there and counting out seven seconds verbally to the OSR I was still getting yelled at because the computer said I was too close. Apparently I'm supposed to be able to count out exactly 7 seconds no matter what. If you're a half second too close from what the computer says it counts against you.

See, the last, and only time I used the simulator, we were mostly just messing around. I'm glad to know I might need to serious the eff up today before using it.

so im getting close to working for schneider on the greensboro, nc intermodal outfit. i had a phone interview yesterday and she said another lady will be calling me to "give me an idea of whats its like in the day in life of an intermodal driver" so i believe everything is going good. But how will orientation be? I know its in chicago for a few days. I live in NC so i thought be going to the charlotte OC. I have not driven since Jan 2012 so a little over six months. Will they give me a little refresher to get used to it again? I know my road test might be a little ugly, as well as my pre trip. ( i got lazy with my pretrip the last couple yrs with a smaller company) I did get my CDL through Schnieder back in 05' so i know with a little time and practice ill be as good as new. Yall think theyll go over pre trip again or let me get some behind the wheel time? everything else seems to be going good though as far as getting hired again
thanks for all the help guys and girls

A troll doesn't have to be a fake profile. A troll is someone who tries to start crap for no other reason than to start crap. It's a walking talking troll. He also goes onto other company thread to flame the same way he is doing here.

most drivers when new with the company do this training after 90 days solo, I believe it is pretty standard.

As far as the simulator, do what I did, tell them it makes you sick, then instead they will go out for a drive with you:biggrin_25519:

I just talked to the OSRs here about my testing today and found out the OSR guy who's doing my testing is this nice guy I've already have had dealings with - so I'm pretty sure this won't be a horrible experience. He even already gave me a "fix your shoes before we go out" look so he doesn't have to ding me for it, lol. I had no idea of how much it will involve, but whatevs. My truck isn't ready yet anyway. I'm getting a whole overhauling of my AC system - blowers, sensors, you name it. Works for me.

I'm sitting here in Gary, watching PokerPerv learn his new temp job - a driver services person at this OC. Do me a favor, and when you come here and see the new guy behind the desk (shaved bald head, glasses and limping around with a walking boot on), ask him the most hard or bizarre question you can think of, lol.

    just an FYI

If you go to the Budweiser plant in Baldwinsville NY, be prepared to sit, and sit, and sit and sit.

Got here at 0830 for a 0900 live load. They backed me into a dock at 1130 and here it is, almost 1430, and I am still not loaded.

Suits me just fine, I only had 4 hours left on my 70 when I got here, so I couldn't drive much today anyways, so now I get paid(4 hours detention and counting) because I really couldn't drive much today anyways!
