Spent 4 hours today looking for an empty yet again. Finally got to my pickup at 1900est. Assignment says PU Window: 1300-1800 Load ready: 1300 Shipper says, load isn't scheduled to be ready until 0730 tomorrow. Might be ready in 3-4 hours tonight at which point my 14 will be up. So much for that 1200 delivery in Chicago tomorrow.

So coming down I-39 in IL today I got nailed by a major storm. I had see the front slowly moving towards me for the last hour so I knew I was going to be hit but was surprised by the ferocity of the leading edge of the storm. I'm at 78,800 gross and was being tossed around like I was empty. There was enough rain and wind to clean my wheel covers off - inside and out. The right side of my truck looks like it went thru a Blue Beacon while the left side looks like it hasn't been washed in a month.
For those who are wondering DBL stands for Driver Business Leader. At this point they have next to nothing to do with dispatching you. Rather they approve (or reject) loads from the APM (Area Planning Manager), make sure you're doing your job and answers questions for you. By funneling all the driver questions to a DBL and then to customer service, APMs etc it allows relationships to be built easier (in theory). Or at least what the job titles and responsibilities are this month. Who knows what's next.
Is anybody else a little pissed that TA's are getting pulled out of the authorized fuel stops? I like being able to stop and shower at TA's instead of Pilots, just a little nicer IMO.Female Driver Thanks this. -
I'm a little pissed about the TA/Petro issue. Showers and restaurants are better than P/FJ.
-
When did they make this decision and when does it go into effect.
Almost any time I stay in NJ I fuel/park at the Bordentown Petro because the Loves is a mess and always full even in the middle of the day. Even when my Fuel directions say to go to the loves I still use the Petro and just save the shower point.
