My company is a nation wide chemical distributor in the U.S.A. with locations around the globe. Obviously, I can only speak of my location.

Drivers work Monday thru Friday and are home every afternoon. Drivers are paid by the hour with overtime after 8 hours. Saturday work is all overtime and Sunday work is all doubletime. Vacation varies by years of service, from 1 to 6 weeks. All vacation is paid at 1 5/2 of your previous years gross. Jury duty is paid at 8 hours per day. Health, dental and vision costs $144.00 per month. It doesn't matter if your single or have a family. The cost is the same. Retirement is completely paid by the company. Short and long term disability paid by the company. DOT physical is paid by the company. TWIC card is paid by the company. Drivers license renewal is paid by the company. Unforms and safety gear are provided by the company. Uniforms are also laundered by the company. $150.00 boot allowance provided by the company. If they wear out before the year is up, another $150.00 boot voucher will be given to the driver with proof of the worn out boot. Cell phones (I-phone or Blackberry) provided and paid for by the company. I think that covers the major items.

Now for the boring part. I can start whenver I want but I choose to start at 0330. I drive to the same customer every day. Around 340 miles. It takes 11.5 hours to complete the run. Sometimes it takes longer but I don't mind because I am paid for all of my time. While some might find this boring, I love it. I can plan my work day around things I want to do in the afternoon. As of July 27th, my gross income was $53,725.71. I get paid this Thursday.

Now you can see why if I post my day on here everyday, it would get boring in short order.

Yeah I used to watch that show when I was a kid. The guy that played Juan Epstein died a week or so ago of the same thing. I think he was 60.

Got to my delivery in Fremont, OH this morning. Lady behind the desk was surprised when she asked for the trailer registration and I couldn't bring it in. She wasn't happy that she had to walk out to the trailer to look at it. She couldn't seem to understand why the registrations are permanently attached to the front of the trailer. I bet that piece of paper would last about a week before somebody forgot to put it back if it was removable.

As soon as they finish unloading me here I'm heading over to P&G in Lima, OH. Then it's off to a Wal-Mart DC in Tomah, WI.

tat would merit a phone call to the GB # they give out. Or Tom's, safety guy in Indy. Heck, he should call regulatory. While he records it on his cell phone he should ask the guy exactly how that is done?

My te pretty much was the same way, he would drive a few hours making me stay on line 2 while riding in passenger seat, then we would switch.... Since the te is using the Qualcomm and the trainees using paper lOgs, I'm guessing a few of the te's are exploiting this to maximize their checks.

I defiantly got the feeling my te was in it for the money only.

My 5 1/2 days with my te:
3100+ miles in 56 total working hours in my log book.
Includes the pretrips I never took part of nor wittnessed, loading, unloading, coupling, uncoupling, and post trips I never took part of or wittnessed, paperwork and the whole 9 yards.
And on top of all that, our overspeed was nil.

I made a report about it when I got home and turned it in, got a call about it a month later from some guy I don't remember and haven't heard anything since.

Te's name is John Obrien, million mile driver.
