    Hello Everybody,
I plan on being here often, I've been reading the thread and enjoying the conversations and tips you have. It's been comforting knowing you all watch out for each other!
I live in Green Bay and will be starting orientation Sept 4th for intermodal. Are there any intermodal drivers here that can give me a clue as to what I might expect? The more people I can talk to, the better I can prepare myself for this huge lifestyle change! I appreciate any advice and I thank you in advance!
An after thought, I'm a female and green as can be, any problems I may have doing this job? Thanks again!

You need to call your DBL. Sounds like a load you will get pulled off of.

Look for a shady looking guy hanging out on a corner, he might have a reefer or two.

If ypur load is a temp.control load you don't necessarily need a reefer. For us that generally means freeze protection, which means you idle the truck under 35 degrees.

    Female Driver Thanks this.

I don't know what I did, but I'm glad I did it. Haven't had a run under 700 miles in the past 2 weeks. Now I have 150 miles to Kinston, NC and then 1300 miles down to Dallas, TX. Never been to Dallas.

Awesome, this load I'm picking up in Denver and is going 1143 miles to Stockton is under 10k lbs. Been a while since I had a light load.
