Dear Schneider Driver that dropped a relay in Louisville:

I understand that when you dropped this relay, you were probably in a hurry to go home. Most drivers want to get home in a timely fashion. I know when I am on my way home, like I was when I picked up your relay, that I want to get home in a timely fashion. I understand that yours, as well as my time at home is precious, and spending time with your family and friends is priceless. I would ask one small favor. We are all on the same team, are we not? Lets not take your fellow driver and bend him over his fifth wheel and stick it up is.....well, you get it. Would it have hurt you to take 10 minutes out of your day to scaled that trailer, which turns out, was 2,000 pounds over weight? Would it have hurt you, to take 5 minutes to do a post trip on that trailer when you dropped it to let SEM know that it had not one....but TWO flat tires?

Don't worry driver, I took care of your mishaps. I sat there for 2 hours waiting for wingfoot to come and replace the tires. I then drove 40 miles out of my way on a 80 mile run to avoid going across a scale. All of these problems I took care of for you, caused me to miss my final load home, and MY priceless time with my family and friends. So here I sit, trying to get a different load home, and missing time with my family because now I will be home at least 2 days late, all because you were to lazy to do your job.

SO, thank you driver, I hope you are enjoying your time at home. I will never know what driver dropped this this trailer, but if you read this, you will know who you are, and I can only hope that there is another lazy driver out there that will return the favor to you. It won't be me, because I respect my fellow drivers and wouldn't do that, but there are more lazy drivers than you, and eventually you will have to clean up their mess.

If inform your dbl if dbl isn't busy he can mark that load as a service failure to that driver that dropped it. it sucks but I hate getting trls like that.

I would PUSH for a service failure for the other driver. I did it several times during my tenure at SNI....and I'm not missing my hometime for any driver's laziness. SNI just would have had to find another sucker for that load.

BTW,...any word yet on this possible restrictive idling (above 80 and below 10 degrees only)?

Turns out, the driver had already received a service failure for this load, because he missed his appointment for delivery. Apparently he didn't want to deliver it because he would have got home late, so he missed the appointment and dropped the trailer in the yard so he could go home.

Don't know what else I can do, I delivered it, and had to be taken off my next load that was getting me home, so I am now waiting on a different load to get me there. I am really not a happy camper right now.

Hello drivers!!! I am thinking about going to get my CDL but am checking around at different companies. I am just curious does Schneider have any positions where they get you home every weekend? So far I am leaning towards Maverick but don't really know if flatbed is the best for a rookie driver. Any help or advice would be very helpful!!

his/her name should have come up on the inspection message you get when you pick up a trailer. You should be getting 2 messages. one a dvir th eother that lists the driver who inspected it stating ( in your case ) no defects.

    Hey all,

Stopped by and said hi to Meghan and Jason in Edwardsville today. Nice new building, looks like it's going to be a nice place to call home for at least the next six months. If all works out, I'll be happy to call it home for a long time.

"I'm leavin on a jet plane(Greyhound Bus), don't know when I'll be back again(three weeks)"...... Can't wait for orientation in Green Bay.

Can anyone comment on two things?

    1. Orientation in Green Bay
    2. Electronic logs (I have DriversDailyLog.com)

Appreciate all your time and answers!

Just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside :yes2557:
