I don't ever see myself doing that unless its something severe like weather or a interstate shutdown and nowhere to exit I will not push myself or take a load I can't deliver
-
regional ya I hate the bus as well but its only a 2hr bus ride from Grenada,Ms to Memphis
-
My first encounter with Schneider Safety involved a "2 hour overage" on my 14. I was 20 miles from the terminal, with 1 hour left on my 14 & 11, when the road got shut down. I drove to the terminal.
Poor planning ??? Illegal operation of a CMV ?? Safety thought so. Arkansas highway patrol didn't think so.
You have 2 choices in this situation. Violate the law and company policy. And drive....
Or park where you are, then get hit or towed. Losing your job, and possibly everything you have in the pending lawsuit.
My second run in. Involved a 10 minute violation of the 14 hour rule. I was bob tail, relieved of duty. Crossing the West Memphis scales, and going on home time.
The LAW allows me to continue into the terminal. Company policy states I should take my 10 break (without pay) at the West Memphis scales, where my clock ran out.
IF I am ordered by the company, to do something on MY time. It becomes their time, and they will pay me for it. Otherwise, I'm free to do as I please. -
Was wondering, we need another home run driver.
I run Home Run. 2 weeks out, 1 week home. -
When I was a Butler, if we went over on hours, we could call saftey and tell them the situation, and they changed the laws if they deemed nessasary.
We didn't go over much, but when the situation arised, our company looked out for us.
I really don't know why Schneider doesn't. -
They won't "change" anything. But they will place a comment on the page, for future reference. Keeping you from getting hammered by safety at your annual review.
This was what I was told to do in the past. Call DBL and explain what happened, so they could flag the event. Now, that doesn't give anyone free rein to violate whenever they feel like it. But it does allow the driver and the company to be on the same page. -
how can we know that DBL has done this? will this flag show on the copies WE can get through Qcomm?
-
See like I said the first one the road was shut down by the authorities something severe enough to run over ones 14 the second I am not understanding
-
I have been pro-elogs for the most part.
But this is one of the areas where I miss paper...
