You could spend an hour each day, easy. Stopping and checking that exclamation mark.

Which pops up to acknowledge ......

    NAT updates
    ETA updates
    Load level information changes
    A new pre-plan
    A deleted load or pre-plan

I'm really fond of that RED one though. Cuz I know when I see it...the BS of the day is almost over.

I don't bother accepting a new load until I get stopped for the day if it comes in while I am driving or anything associated with the orange exclamtion point. I couldn't tell you anything about my scorecard or metrics. As I see it, I deliver on time, pick up on time, and don't give my dbl any crap and even save loads or haul empties when needed to help out. If that isn't good enough for a company that is obviously gotten too big for its own britches then I am sorry. I will not pull my truck over just to stop do something that could have very easily have waited til the end of my day. Just my 2 cents worth but all this pressure to nickle and dime us drivers and make it harder on us out here is getting old very quickly and I am still new at this

A truck driver would suck it up and do it. Any truck drivers here? I see a couple but not many.

By the time my first year was up, I already new how to beat "the system". I made things happen and got things done. And had fun doing it. I can't remember shedding tears when I had to do the impossible. Things are so much easier these days, but some just make it hard. Suck it up.

Most of the ones I know, have a take no #### mindset.

I've met only one in my time at Schneider.....group think is the message of the day here.

Suck it up, don't make waves. Serves ONLY one purpose, the company.

That's fine, if the "talking heads" could actually DO something to correct the BS, other than finding ways to blame a driver.

I've witnessed first hand how operations deals with an issue.....blame the driver.

Case in point.... I witnessed a DBL refer to one of his drivers as STUPID, to customer service on the phone. Why? Because the driver had NOT received his load, therefore had not left to get it....He was late, in their opinion. Because "HE" was stupid.

Suck it up??? I don't think so.

The suck it up lifestyle works good for me on paydays. If one ain't happy here, I'm sure other companies would hire them.

    Take Tango for instance....lol

Ike, disagree with ya on this one. If we drivers just suck it up and do as we are told, then we become the company minions out here. You don't have a problem with the ambient sensor on your truck caus you live in Texas and will never be far enough north to experience true cold weather like those of us that are in the NE region and so on. Telling one to suck it up is the same to me as telling someone to suck the ### off the company and just bend over and take your medicine like a good little kid.

You have made alot of good points in your videos and posts but this one, well, lets just agree to disagree. If I was lucky enough to be out only 4 days a week and only have to worry about sleeping in my truck a couple nights then I wouldn't ##### or complain about the ambient sensor either. I personally live in my truck for 12 days straight and think some of these things will make it rather hard especially when I end up doing a 34 restart out on the road. being told to hang out inside a truck stop most of the day is crap seeing how most truck stops have no where to sit or hang out inside especiall up here in the NE region where truckstops have been reduced to travel plazas for 4 wheelers. i will only suck it up when the consessions are in the drivers favor, not the office's favor.

Happy ?? That's a no brainer. Most of us are happy here, just as you are.

However, there are those of us who take serious issue with people that refuse to accept responsibility for their own inability to do their jobs.

There's a fine line between "sucking it up" and "covering another persons ###". Personally, I choose not to blur those lines. I make them very distinct, with good reason.

Sucking it up = getting the job done through adverse conditions.

Covering someones ### = Getting your ### fired when you get blamed for the SNAFU

    BIG DIFFERENCE...........

Man I wish I had that problem...cold weather.

Heat is what kills me. But I'm not moving to get away from it.

The jury is still out on the sensor, in my opinion. They "claim" it will be located in an area where it will not be effected like the one mounted in/on our dash. But I won't be convinced until I see it in operation.

Well, poo. Just got my second critical event. I was at a stop light and got the roll over event initiated when I turned the corner. I want to call BS on it, but I guess it wouldn't have initiated for nothing. There is/was some seriously strong winds here in Indy, and I think that had something to do with it. I guess I should have accounted for the wind. A roll event is a roll event, I suppose. Ugh.

    That's pretty lame.

The extreme cold y'all get up north where the temp is below 20 on a regular basis, you are allowed to idle. Above 20 use your bunk heater.

I say try it out. If it doesn't work, try someone else out.

My original post was not about this subject really anyway. There was some posts above mine that I was referring to. Not one post or poster. Just an attitude within 10 or so posts before mine.

When my boss needed me to do something, I did it. I had something to prove to my boss and other truckers. And if that meant making funny jokes on my logbook I did it. I would make all the turn arounds that were given to me. Real truckers did in those days. But today is different. We don't run illegal these days. Trucking is so much easier these days. So when I see newbies complain about minor things, I turns my stomach.

The sensors are a very legitimate complaint.
