Sitting at the Carlisle OC trying to map out my load going to Wyoming Michigan. Navigo is routing me pretty much through all the little towns and worst roads possible to get there. To top it off, workflow calls for 580 from point A to point B but the best I am coming up with is around 630. Seems like most of my loads have a variation like this and seems to me were getting cheated miles. Maybe why that's why people can't keep their OOR belows stats because of stupid crap like this?
-
Lol if it was everyone would be lined up for it. I'm scheduled for nov. 5th orientation in dallas. Looking forward to getting started.

Welp, looks like I will be taking all back roads to Wyoming Michigan tomorrow since our great company is too cheap to pay toll to run on I-80 through Ohio and Indiana. Gues the extra fuel costs of the added 50+ miles and god knows how much time due to stop lights and small town traffic it will take is well worth it to them. If I knew I could afford to pay for the toll out of my pocket, I'd just run it anyway.

I agree. Hell, I just checked the Ohio Turnpike website and it is only $35 for trucks to go across the whole thing. Unless that site it wrong, we waste that much in fuel cost driving around the #### thing.

I choose my routing based on where I'm going to have the best chances to take DOT (these rural US highways are crap shoots) and what will be the most efficient time wise. That extra 2 hours spent on a 2 lane US highway is 2 hours less that I have to run on my next load.

I thought it was a lot more then that so double check to be sure. I'm guessing there should be signs when you get on so if it's to much you can get off at the first exit. I took 30 across Indiana it wasn't to bad and had a few places to stop I slept at the second pilot I was going west out of IL. The first one you hit is really really small almost no parking at all so even just getting coffee you pretty much have no choice to park at the pump.

sorry for all the extra info. this is if you come out of PA onto the turnpike. I have run 30 through IL and OH many times and I don't actually mind it too much except the part of it right at the beggining off of 69. I run it when I take loads from Chicago to Hazleton Pa for AutoZone.
