Made it to Carlisle and made my drop and now sitting at the OC bored out of my mind. Travel wasn't too bad coming up 81 from Tenn but did get a little crazy with the snow down around Glade Springs Va. Woke up with about 6 inches on the front of my truck. Roads were all good, just wet but after about 40 miles or so, it was fine. Saw a few pics from the WV turnpike of 77 and 64 and it is very bad.

Over the weekend instead of waiting on hold and since I was at my OC I thought hey I'll just walk back there and ask why my stuff was messed up LOL one guy was pretty upset I was back there like I breached some national security system or something. I don't see the big deal we can walk back to our normal day time DBL location no issues but this one DBL wasn't happy at all and neither was I my work flow wasn't working. So instead of walking through a door and saying here assign this trailer to me so I can leave the yard I had to sit on hold for 45 minuets standing 50' from them. I know there busy but that was just ridiculous if you ask me. Maybe I'm just spoiled because the day time DBL's at my OC are pretty awesome.

well fellow pumpkin drivers, last you heard from me, I was leaving the great pumpkin for a local gig that would get me home every day, so let me fill you in.

I called my DBL and put in my notice(2 weeks). He poked and prodded as to why I was leaving, and after explaining everything, he said he understood and would make sure I was home on time to start orientation.

The next day, I was bombarded with qualcomm messages from my DBL, my DBL's boss and the OC boss, and several phone calls from all three. After many back and forths, they finally just flat out asked what they could do to get me to stay. Now, as I really like driving for SNI, I flat out told them I need to be home more often, and had attempted to get a dedicated before and couldn't get it. I was routed to my OC 3 days before I was supposed to be home and called into to talk to the big guy. Long story short....I was offered an "intra-Ohio" position. Basically staying within 250 miles of the Obetz OC which will get me home every weekend and sometimes during the week, with the promise that if a position came open that would get me home more, that they would switch me to it. I was concerned about the pay because I will get less mile, but they went over the pay structure, which pays more per mile for short hauls than what I make now to make up for the lack of miles.

Sooooo, I agreed to stay. So I am still a pumpkin. I just started this board yesterday after having the weekend off. I got home my first day out....sitting in Gary now and heading back to Ohio in the morning. I think I am gonna like this 5/2, we will see how it goes.

I got pulled off the road for a random drug screening today. It was surprisingly quick. In and out in under an hour.

I'm glad things worked out for you! It's nice to hear that SNI valued a single employee enough to fight and keep that person. Must of felt pretty good to be appreciated.

Great, was supposed to be home this weekend, but support shift dumped a load on me last night going up to CT from GA. I should have just refused it but I thought I'd be the company guy. Never heard back from my DBL about a relay now I'm stuck with it. Then I'm going to run out of hours up there and am going to have to take a 34 hour reset before I can go home. If I'm not home by Tuesday to vote I'm done with Schneider. I run for a month at a time and expect to be home once a month. Is it really that hard? Right now I've been out 28 days straight. It normally isn't an issue but this is ridiculous that the morons in Green Bay can just dump a load on a driver and your DBL hand's are tied. Now they can't set up a relay unless they can find another driver to do the relay. So I get screwed in the process.

Gary Ops was complaining that they are the worst operating center when it came to driver production. Maybe it's because they lose good drivers over dumb stuff like this? The only things I ever complain about are lack of miles and time at home (oh yeah, and pay issues such as not getting my bonus when I should and other issues. Funny how we're never overpaid, but sometimes we're underpaid). I don't care where they send me as long as I am moving. The thing that is most annoying is that all of these people that want to be regional, home every weekend get priority over the people that want to run. These regional drivers get first dibs at any loads going home, while the guys that run apparently have no life outside of their truck and they don't have to get home when they want to because what better things do they have to do with their life, right?
