I, on the other hand, have the right to ##### out the worthless, piece of ####, lazy ###, #### sucking, son of a ##### driver who picked up a load at the Nestle Purina plant in Davenport IA and dropped it as a relay at the Schneider Intermodal yard in Chicago without bothering to weigh it. It just so happens to weigh out at 11940 on the steers, 35000 on the drives, and 32980 on the trailer. Gross is 79920. Fifth wheel is in the 3rd notch and trailer tandems are all the way forward.

Keep in mind that weight is what I got it to after sliding the tandems from the 9th hole to all the way forward.

Once again, your a #### sucking piece of #### worthless excuse of a driver. You deserve to be punished severely!!!!

Sent in the overweight message and got back this as a reply

"OVERWEIGHT PLEASE RESCALE LOAD WITH YOUR FIFTH WHEEL IN THE 5TH SETTING, EACH SETTING SHOULD MOVE 500 POUNDS FROM YOUR DRIVES TO YOUR TANDEMS.
    THANKS. CLAIMS"

    Immediately followed by this message,

"OVERWEIGHT IGNORE LAST MESSAGE, THAT WON'T WORK THAT WAY."

Uhhhhhhhh, really. Who da thunk it?

    1. Some facilities have minimal workout equipment. I wouldn't go so far as to say they have gyms.
    2. Showers are regularly cleaned and towels provided, although some of the showers need serious upgrading. Always bring a towel from home since SNI has a variety of operating points which have showers that are not cleaned and that don't provide towels (Wintersville OH Walmart Distribution Center, Tunkhannock PA Dropyard, etc)
    3. Miles depend on you and your DBL (dispatcher). If you give accurate ETAs and run hard, then it totally depends on your DBL. I could run 500 miles a day if my hands weren't tied, i.e. liveloads and short mileage loads. I'm very unhappy with less than 2000m/wk. I am very happy with over 3000m/wk. I average 2500/wk.
    4. I pay $55/wk health and dental for a family, and that is the middle option. There are cheaper and a more expensive plans available. Looks like the cost for next year is going up significantly.
    5. I stay out for 2 weeks at a time, and almost always get back home within one day of my scheduled return. I consider that reasonable. If I get back a day late, I go back out a day late. Years ago I was on a weekend account which got me back on Sat morn and sent me back out Sun night. I absolutely hated it. Personally, when I go home it takes me a day to recover, and a day to prepare to go back out. So 2 days is like no time off at all.
    6. It is common to wait. If your ETA is accurate, your chances of waiting are less. It's rare that I have to wait more than an hour for a new load. Things usually run reasonably smooth but things will go bad out there once in awhile. I once had to sit for 10 days while my truck was being repaired. I'd like to say that I never get pissed off, but everyone has his limit...

I've been with Schneider for about a year now. I run Midwest regional. I'm getting really frustrated with all of these changes they've been making. I run hard, always update my ETA's and NAT's but can't seem to get consistent miles. I've had weeks as low as 1400 and an occasional 3000. I'm happy with 2400 per week but average around 2000. last week was only 1600. This idling sensor is going to be the last straw. If I'm going to be away from home and live in a truck I'm going to make money and be comfortable. They just don't seem to have it together. I've about had it...I'm going to move on as soon as I find an hourly gig.

Can one of you smart individuals give me the exact specs on what it takes to bump the qualcomm to line 3?

I have a "seat of the pants" sort of understanding of this, and have played with it a bit, but there are times (when you're displaced from a parking location mid-break...when a live load takes 8 hours and runs you out of 14 and you have to go find parking....etc etc etc) when I would like to know the exact numbers...exactly when that elog is going to trip into "Driving" mode.

Specific distance(s)...specific speed(s)....do any of you have these?

    Thanks in advance.

PS, like many of you, I am about worn thin with this operation as well. The function of planning is poor, the amount of dishonesty and displacement of risk onto the driver is unacceptable, the driver behaviors toward other drivers (relays, drops, disgusting slip seat trucks, etc) and the attitude of the company about a drivers comfort in the truck during downtime is inhumane. This company will continue to face various and worsening human resources crises until they make a major paradigm shift toward investing in retaining good drivers (by way of treating them fairly) rather than recruiting new drivers.

A lot of variables go into this, that being said I have chanced it within a 2mile radius. I have found that if you go off duty and drive 2miles( over 40 MPH) it will kick you onto driving. However if you stop within the 2miles, and go back to off duty, your driving time will convert. That being said not something to do often.
