    Hello all.

I am currently driving the flatbed and box truck for Lowes but had a job offer by Schneider for a regional position. Starting out at .29 a mile and after 6 months going to .33 a mile. I have had my Class A for about 6 yrs now. Schneider wants me to take a refresher course before hiring me.

My question is this, is Schneider a good company to work for and is a regional position worth it? I retired from the Air Force after 22 yrs in 09 so I am no spring chicken. Lowes just isn't cutting the mustard pay wise.

Any info and recommendations would be great.

The one and only thing always eats my clocks are live loads and unloads, when they gave me those 2 crappy relays, my day was pretty much shot. I had to take 2 34s so far before my third week. Well it looks like I will give my dbl a call right now for my tah, sucks, thy should of at least told this to us in orientation lol

In all honesty, they should be paying you a tad bit more. Lol I'm a rookie and I'm getting paid 27 cents and I'm running the western 11 regional. I hate beig away from home but I gotta put in my time in Otr to show any experience for other positions. I personally want intermodal or a dedicated account. Good luck on the choice...

Did anyone else get the message today about their vacation time only being 5 days per week, so if like me you have two weeks next year you only get ten days. I asked my DBL why it changed and he told me it was always that way even though i had the letter from last year that showed you could take from Sunday to Saturday which was a full pay period.

Yup, my TE was telling me about that, thy didn't say anything, they pretty much just announced and made the decision to avoid the out cry from us drivers. Go figure, I'm a rookie, new, so I don't have any vacation days, but for you guys that been around, cutting you paid vacation to only 5 days per week instead of 7?! Now that sucks.

When you are in truck doing nothing related to your job other than waiting, you should be off duty or in sleeper. Don't let on duty not driving eat up your hours, if you are sitting your off duty
