Yea, that 5 day vacation week is complete bull. I have to work for an entire week (7 days) to get 1 day off. I usually work 28 days straight just to get 4 days off. Yet schneider thinks they can change my 1 week of paid vacation per year to only 5 days of paid vacation.... That's complete bull ####!

 

A week is a week. A week, last I checked, is 7 days. Just another step in the continuation of the decline of SNI.

 

I see no decline, just a big miscommunication.

I saw the declines during my time there. My conversations with random SNI drivers since I left does nothing to change my personal opinion of them. If you're happy, that's all that matters.

 

there was this phrase we used at a previous job that related to bigwigs coming into town and us busting butt to shine everything up. Not FIX the problems but to hide them. "Polish The Turd"

current deal,I run a dedicated. Apparently this account slows down during Dec and Jan. Was I informed when I interviewed? NO. So they are farming us out to keep earning. Which is a good thing, BUT at the same rate for the account I'm on NOT the rate for the one I'm on loan to.


11 more days til I get this wonderful 5 days paid. See a few opportunites I'm going to apply for.

 

That's a crock, right there. If you're running system freight, you should be paid at the system rate you would be making as a system driver. I'm assuming, of course, that being paid such a rate would be higher than the one you're getting on your dedicated gig.

 

ha, yeah Gary and coraopolis is like driving onto flypaper. But seriously, $500? If it ever gets that bad for me, they'll be picking up a truck after I find a one way rental. Put that many hours in with a $10/hr job, you'll come out way ahead .. And youll sleep in your own bed, shower in your own shower and not worry about BS scare tactics. DAC? Whatev .. Have at it!

On loan to another account this month driving days for the most part. Have a run tonight on my account and I cant sleep. need to leave in about 4 1/2 hours.

 

Merry Christmas to all, I see I'm not the only scrooge around here upset about the insulting 5 day vacation time message. I understand that the norm is a "5 day work week", but when you are busting your ### out on the road for weeks at a time and then they give you a hard time getting home when you want to how do we follow the same standards as a 9-5er sitting in an office that is on straight salary anyways? Their getting the same amount regardless while they are shorting us 2 days of pay. Seriously, if we are going to take our weeks vacation, are we seriously just going to take off 5 days when every other person in the world takes 7? What kind of vacation is that? It's just the way they stated it in the message and not what they said. Basically, it was saying to me, "we know you whining ### truck drivers are going to complain and ##### and moan about this like you always do, but go #### yourselves, this is the way it is" Thanks Green Bay for your support!

 

or maybe it was saying "we're doing everything we possibly can to push you silly drivers into bringing a union back in here, but you just won't do it"
