In part, yes. There's more than meets the eye, though. It's not all gloom-and-doom.

How I see all these cuts? I don't know but I just started with the company, I heard some good and some bad. But I wouldn't compare this company to cr England, crst, swift, or Werner. I heard even more horror stories about those companies. Those are what I consider bottom feeder companies, keeping you out, months at a time and low pay. The stuff I hear about SNI is not all that bad in comparison. I'm still new, but heck, I'm talking to cr England students on the road and I feel like I'm being treated as royalty.

Are we treated better than all the other major carriers, I'd say yes for the most part...for now. The problem is Schneider used to work hard to be above those carriers. As they slipped farther to the bottom feeder status, Schneider would stay the same. Now we are trying to compete to be just like those bottom feeders. The people at the top here used to have a soul and care about everybody. Now they are so cold to everyone, especially the drivers. Like I said, we are still better, in my opinion, than the others you mentioned. Its just sad that this used to be such a good place and now its just mediocre and management is happy about it.Female Driver Thanks this.

Exactly right. SNI lost its soul with the entrance of Lofgren and the goal now is to reach the bottom in order to be like Werner and Swift, etc. There are some things leftover from the good SNI, but they are being systematically eliminated. Lofgren seems to have no sense of empathy, a primary trait of psychopaths.Last edited: Dec 17, 2012

Just like all other things "you never had it on there" lol
anyways, I have perdium on my payroll, does anyone know of I have to pay more at the end of the tax year? I don't know how it works but I'm liking that my checks have alot less taken out of them. -
Main thing is you won't be able to deduct the percentage of the fifty-odd dollars per day you're on the road. If you're used to doing that (and I see you're a student so this may not apply to you), you'll need to change your witholding numbers so you don't get stuck with a big tax bill at the end of the year.
For example, if I'm on the road 300 days during 2012, I can deduct a significant part of the $58 per day (I think it is) from my taxes. If I'm on per diem, I lose that deduction, but pay less taxes up front. As long as you plan for it correctly, it won't hurt you. -
I"m assuming - I'm not a tax attorney or accountant - that you can only declare those expenses that were not reimbursed, such as those outside the per diem.
Best you confer with a tax professional to be sure of your options before you end up on the IRS' "need to call" list.
48Packard Thanks this.
