On the new style espar heaters does anyome know what it means when the display reads "LU" and the thing stops producing heat? Mines done that a couple or three times now.

Mine did that in the yard. Went to shop and they said its actually LV for low voltage. You gotta idle the truck for about 20 minutes with your foot on the fuel at about 1300 and pump the clutch every time the lights flash on the dash (about every 3 minutes.) That gave me the juice I needed to stay warm on my 10.

Our just press the on button again and it will fire back up. That's what I do when it happens to me.

I've had the truck hit LVD and turn off all my lights and power inside as well as the bunk heater with that LV and hit the button to run for what was left of my 10.

The bunk heaters are supposed to be able to run until either the tanks are dry or the batteries are dead. That way even if the truck is stranded with a broken engine you still have heat until help can get to you.

I guess this one wasn't hooked up right. When I turned it off and back on, it would fire up and the fan would be on high. Then about a minute later it started going back down, the LU/LV came on and it quit again. That's when I went to the shop. That's what I brought up about supposed to be able to run past the LVD, but he said he didn't know. I guess there was a batch of them not done right.

Out of all the BS truckers deal with on a daily basis, I never thought it would be the problems of staying warm. I feel bad for ya'll.

The unit it self has a low volt cut out at 10.5 so if batteries get that low device won't function properly

Oh yeah, kind thoughts for that driver of ours that jacked on the freeway I 96 in Mi. Poor guy must have hit a slick spot before the plows could salt yesterday morning. On top of that 4 wheelers have to relearn how to drive in weather. Dude wound up in the center median. Almost did a complete 180.
